Why do people act that Ward would be great?

    I'm pretty sure the 12th round disproves that theory, had Kovalev gone all out after the first KD in round 1 the referee would have stopped the fight, he would not have a allowed Hopkins to take that kind of punishment, and make no mistake Kovalev if he really wanted to, could have done that to Hopkins any time he wanted to.

    Kovalev wanted to put the Boxing world on notice and prove to you all how skilled he really is. What makes more of a statement to go in and blast an old man out of the ring like everyone was expecting him to do, or comprehensively outboxing a master boxer who is a great rhythm breaker and spoiler with absolute ease, making him look like he didn't even belong in the ring with the Krusher?

    You do realise that Kovalev has 90% KO ratio at LHW? And even against Hopkins, he dropped him in the first round with the first right he threw (and Hopkins has a good chin in most people's estimation), the rest of the fight was Hopkins on his bike trying to survive.

    Unless you're a total idiot with **** for brains, you'd know that Kovalev EASILY has the power to stop him, Ward on the other hand, even with Kovalev's less than stellar chin, it's very doubtful.

    lol...ya im sure kovalev "mr ice cold killer" wanted to let hopkins off the hook...since ya know hopkins gets stopped so frequently LOL

    ya he didnt wanna stop hop! he wanted to send a message that he could outbox an old man that barely throws and has one of the lowest workrates youll see....

    ya he really put the world on notice by not stopping hop! lol...cmon man get real...you act as if he wanted to carry hopkins or something...like kovalev likes to carry people

    yup...i know kova has the power to stop anyone....its just easier said than done against someone with the skill level of ward who is a spoiler

    youve got this CST acting as if kova wanted to carry hopkins and not stop him to prove a point...lol....

    To me Kovalev is the favourite against Ward whenever they fight, but I'm pretty sure Ward beats Hopkins, Pascal, and Cleverly.

    Definitely, one thing I do dislike is when people say "all he needs is one punch", that kind of tactic never works.

    Well, other than 12th round, Kovalev was boxing him and wasn't really going for a stoppage, though I think Hopkins was "lucky" that the fight wasn't stopped in the 12th anyway, could easily have been.

    Cleverly is not as bad as people seem to think he is, at his best he could outwork Ward, his size advantage and volume could be a problem for Ward, while Ward probably would win a UD, its not like it would be easy for him, Clev's chin is great as he proved against Fonfara, and he use of angles might present a few problems as well.

    Pascal could make it dirty and awkward as hell for Ward, it might even end up looking like the Bika fight, which was the closest of Ward's career, Pascal's unpredictable ambush style isn't the easiest style to deal with, Pascal could have probably beaten Froch had he chose to not make it a slugfest and actually tried to outbox him.

    And Hopkins for obvious reasons like you stated.

    I think Ward probably beats them all as well, but none of them are a 100% given.

    It's pretty believable.. Kovalev killed a guy in the ring, It definitely doesn't look like he went into the Hopkins fight wanting to knock his head off...

    Well it rarely is 100% but Ward would definitely be a heavy favourite in all those fights.

    Ward is not planning to fight Kovalev, his real target is Mickey Rourke but he'll need another 4-5 tune-ups for that

    its believable if thats what you want dearly to believe

    when has hopkins ever been stopped? if kova wanted to prove a point he could have outboxed him for several rounds and then taken him out

    kova killing someone in the ring didnt stop him from beating pascals head in twice....or anyone else for that matter

    you guys live in fairytales and believe whatever you want to....thats what you do

    kova would have loved to be the first to stop hopkins

    Trust me, while I don't know Kovalev personally, I think I know how he thinks, he likes humiliating people, why else do you think he loves going to their hometowns to beat them? How do you humiliate a master boxer who prides himself in exposing KO artists, you outbox him and make him look like an amateur, Kovalev took Hopkins soul that night. The way Kovalev beat him was especially hurtful for Hopkins far more than a KO would have been. Why else do you think Hopkins respects Kovalev as much as he does now?

    one minute you guys talk about kova being a soulless icey killer...then when you wanna change the script yall talkin like he wanted to carry a guy that had never been stopped and had mercy on him because hes a kind and loving human that wanted to prove what a boxer he was that night....lol

    hopkins has been outboxed before....hes never been reduced to being knocked out or stopped....try again

    He respects Hopkins, but he doesn't respect Pascal at all, Pascal's loudmouth made sure of that.
