    This reminds me of Froch/Bute.

As for why he's being hyped, i have no clue to be honest, I remember his fight with duddy when they were both considered complete jokes.

Who is hyping him..? the boxing fans or TV networks/promoters etc...

We as hardcore boxing fans, are the ultimate judges.

Fans in the general seem pretty high on him, not that I pay any attention to what they think, you understand.

JCC jr is way to strong for him. Don't forget that sergio aint really had a fight with that many people of note at middleweight.

Sorry mate but you're talking ****.

    Paul Williams
Kelly Pavlik - Lineal, universally regarded #1 MW
Matt Macklin - Rated top ten by all orgs, top 5 by most. 2 time Euro champ.
Darren Barker - Same as Macklin.
    Dzinzuruk - Unbeaten, JMW beltholder

He comprehensively beat the lineal number 1. He has KO'd four dangerous challengers since then. If you want to compare him to Chavez then here we go:

    Barker>Lee/Zbik/Rubio
    Macklin>Lee/Zbik/Rubio
    Pavlik>Lee/Zbik/Rubio
    Williams>Lee/Zbik/Rubio
    Dzinzuruk>Duddy

It seems fashionable to underplay Martinez on here, these days. Don't be fooled he has proved he is the best, undoubtedly. How anyone can justify Chavez beating Martinez (a type of fighter JCC has never fought) after fighting Andy Lee is an idiot. Plain and simple. Probably the same idiots picking Chisora to beat Haye. :-(

He weighed 170 pounds a couple of weeks before his return match with Paul Williams.

That's pretty big if you ask me.

honestly think it would be a good fight which either could win, chavez seems tough as nails and if he could keep walking matinez down and grind him down could start getting his shots off and hurting martinez esp to the body against maklin in his last fight martinez did seem to be getting caught a bit easy at times and didnt like the constant pressure, against someone with a better chin higher work rate and more power like chavez i think he could struggle, will be interesting

Chavez has looked impressive in his last couple of outings but I think people are getting carried away. Maravilla is more proven and has been operating at the highest level for a while now.

Maravilla movement will be a problem for Chavez. I lean towards Maravilla but Chavez defiantly has a shot.

I look at Chavez beating Lee as being somewhat like Pavlik beating Lockett. It was a great display, but not against a particularly good opponent.
