I agree with you. Except for one thing. I don't think Vitali wins ugly. He KO's almost everyone he fights. KO's are never an ugly thing. I wish every fight in history ended in a KO, and no judges were ever involved. Judges help boxers win ugly. I am not 100% certain Tyson would beat Vitali. You know, there are some types of fighters that give fighters trouble. I think big tall fighters with some skills and smarts give Tyson trouble. Everyone thinks the buster douglas was a shock. But, if you saw Tyson versus Tillis, Tyson had trouble against that big guy. Tyson had to win in a decision. To me, that Tillis fight was the first crack in Tyson's unbeatable image.
You are a kidder! Bowe who was twice beaten by Polish thug would have beaten Vitaly,eh! Holmes, who was a champ in an extremely weak era, would have smashed Vitaly to pieces,eh! Thyson, who fought bums on American soil for the greatest part of his career, would have beaten Vitaly,eh! Vitaly is no member of Bruce Seldom's or McNeeley's family, mate! Vitaly in his prime would have hold his own against any fighter of any era.:good
It depends which people you listen to. People like Farmboxer for instance have his nuts constantly in their mouth and blabber completely ridiciulous things. Other people will completely disrespect him and call him a robot, quitter, a guy dominating a weak era and such. The truth is somewhere in the middle. I think he's a very good fighter (or was 4 years ago - he doesn't look great at the moment). But a great resume he is lacking. Sam Peter, Gomez, Herbie Hide etc is not exactly a killer resume, and he's never even unified the division which should be a bare minimum for greatness if that is your competition.
Vitaly's big problem is that there are no other outstanding pros out there. I for my part think that Povetkin has the tools to beat both Klitschko brothers, but the former Russian amateur star's name recognition is almost zero in most parts of the world. Povetkin should have fought more often knocking out limited opposition in impressive fashion. Povetkin also needs more tv exposure-even in the German market.A fighter like Luan Krasniqui who cant carry Povetkin's socks is far better known there than the great Russian amateur star.
Vitali has bad points, but he is human. Relatively and generally speaking he is a beast. His comeback needs to get the right credit. The man disappeared for 5 years and came back and dominated two good guys.
I agree Povetkin would have a great chance against Vitali. I said this after the Gomez fight. Vitali's timing is not what it was, he struggled to time Gomez when he came inside and Gomez has always been more of a counterpuncher that was forced to lead off. Vitali's footwork is slower with age, and his knee. His stamina didn't look the best I've seen it. All this leads me to believe a young lion like Povetkin can that put a lot of pressure on, throw many punches...could be a nightmare for Vit at this stage. I wouldn't like his chances so much against Wlad.
