You obviously don't know what you're talking about. Of course I watched those fights. How did I know that Baldi is tough but not much else at that level of competition if I haven't seen him fight a few times? At that time I was all over PBF because it sure looked like there were alot better fights out there for him to make, but he wasn't making them, trinkets or no. That said, I have alot more respect for his recent choices in competition.
this was discussed before in this thread: http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=393124
since you are new to boxing and still havent learned a damn thing. because Margarito was the #1 ranked guy at 147 and the most feared and avoided..... floyd fought a guy who got a fluke win vs judah and everyone knew this fight would suck because Baldomir is about as fast as a broken down car and had his ass kicked 9 times already...picking up cheap ass wins to justify some kind of streak... :deal
That's true. I didn't really buy into the hype they put on him. Undefeated in like 8 years but only a handfull of fights? gtfoh lol. Even still, he did beat Judah. I just get the feeling people would've said he duck Baldi had they not fought.
i may not be %100 on this but when may vs judah happened i'm pretty sure mayweather baldomir an judah were all ranked higher than margarito not to mention the fact that he had absolutely no notable wins on his record at that time. As far as the fight between mayweather/baldomir i feel its a 2 sided sword #1 if your a boxing fan this is one of the best displays vs a champion floyd hit this guy with every punch in the book an dominated my real only problem is one of my biggest concerns with his career the fact that if he has a fighter completely outclassed he still tends to coast pretty much every fight he's had since reaching 147 i felt that if he stepped up just a little he could have stopped them from judah-cotto but i won't make a big deal because at the end of the day when this fight happened he was still more of a 135/40 fighter going against an opponent that outweighed him by 15-20 lbs #2 for me there is no real difference between margarito and baldomir only notable thing tony has done was cheat cotto and the only notable thing carlos has done was become undisputed champ and considering the fact that he cheated cotto, baldomir>margarito
I thought Baldomir was a fight that needed to happen, the guy was on a roll and beat two high profile guys and was the champion Floyd took on this risky guy with little upside but fought him anyway i thought the early goings were entertaining Baldomir came to fight Floyd caught him with great shots and had him bleeding early then the fight turned more into an exibition, no fault on Baldomir he tried just Floyd fought a fight where he didnt let Baldomir do much if Floyd stood and traded with Baldomir he would have given Baldomir a great chance at having the fight he wanted and the fight he won vs Judah and Gatti Floyd knew better then to fall into the trap his two predecessors made and took a landslide victory over a difficult slugfest
