Thats is exactly my point.People say that alot of fighters have a glass jaw,so when you say Amir Khan has a glass jaw it doesn't carry the same weight because it is an overused term.I can't get over how Khans legs went completely wooden from that Prescott jab:-(
I feel you, its like when my wife says to me "I hate you" on a daily basis, I just ignore her and lock her back in the basement. Ive been desensitized to that statement.
Its kinda obvious the guy cant take a flush CW punch. He almost got KOd once in CW i forgot the guys name, he got TKOd by Thompson, and im sure if JMM would of been more active and maybe a tad younger he would of finished Haye off. But the Lack of chin he makes up for with his power..
He can't take punches at Cruiserweight but he is going to move up to Heavyweight with no Chin issues? When this overhyped joke gets KOed by a Wlad jab will you people still be on here making excuses for Haye's Glass Jaw?
While Haye does not have a glass jaw, he doesn't have a particularly granite one either. But he is a fighter that is often on the offensive, and throwing punches leaves one open to counterpunches. Haye was inexperienced and not in top condition against Thompson. Mormeck was no slouch and a decent hitter, and Haye mixed it up with him. Haye should be fighting more often though to generate more interest in the US for when he gets his dream fight against Wlad.
Nobody is saying he will take a HW punch with no problems.... what heavyweight does? It's a simple case of Klit fans like you saying he has a glass jaw with not much substance.. he doesn't have a glass jaw... he has an ok jaw, not great but not glass neither
Glass is extreme for a guy that hasn't been KO'd, as in down and out. He's been stopped on exhaustion and foolishness, yes. Mock is a contributing factor to the theory I would think. Watch closely and its a shot on the temple that clearly disturbed his equilibrium. Concerning for a cruiserweight against a light punching smaller man. He was rocked pretty bad by Mormeck. Now Mormeck is a pretty good puncher, and Haye composed himself well, he took a knee and got up and fought sensibly. This time he was actually hurt by a single shot to the chin. So overall I'd conclude it was average at cruiserweight. How it looks at heavyweight remains to be seen.
Actually the punch from Mormeck was another temple shot. People also don't seem to take into account that it is possible his chin could be better at HW... Everyone and his dog knows how much Haye struggled to make the CW limit and had to starve himself to reach it and sometimes dehydrae himself to make it which will effect punch resistence. But then at HW it doesn't really matter how good your chin is
