Why do people believe Haye has a glass chin?

didnt every one say ali had a glass jaw when he was on his way up and he turned out to have one of the best chins in history . soon as someone gets rocked they have a glass jaw its bollocks

 

Its not as bad as i think has been made out.

He is susceptible to getting getting stunned and losing his legs, he certainly can get put down. However he has never lost a count and has been put legitimately down what? 3, 4 times in his career.

I would be far more worried if he had been Ko'd straight out. He has never been put down cleanly, ie going straight down from a single shot. He tends to lose his legs and fall, or take a knee. And he knows what to do when hurt, and seems to have OK recovery abilities.

He is certainly going down if he takes HW bombs flush, its an unknown quantity if he can get up again...his chin is genuinely not as bad as is made out.

 

Because he got knocked out by someone who was a middle or supermiddleweight and now he is fighting at heavyweight.

He's never been KO'd.

 

By bad i got my info wrong, he was knocked out by Carl Thompson, its on youtbe, but he has always been a cruiserweight. I think he has been dropped by a supermiddleweight though.

 

Carl Thompson didn't Knock him out neither it was a TKO brought on mainly through exhaustion in his 11th pro fight, fighting for the IBO title against an ex world champ with a granite chin. He was dropped by Mock with a temple shot but then got up to TKO the guy in the same round

 

I never have understood why people get on the heavyweights for giong down... these are big guys punching each other, of course people are going to go down!

 

To be fair - his chin isnt great, yet he's able to weather the storm so far - and i'd bet more money on Haye landing his punch and doing the damge, than anyone else - it's not like they're particularly quick are they?

 

At the risk of sounding a know it all awkward git - he got KD'd in the 2nd round, KO'd Mock in the 4th...

 

becaue if you have one loss by KO or in fact have ever been knocked down....your jaw is GLASS on this board...for the most part, people here throw that word out like its "and, or, the ect" misinformed or mainly ignorant people

 

It's probably better than Wlad's, and look where he is right now? He's sitting atop the Heavyweight division, Haye is every bit as talented as Wlad is, thats give the guy a chance to prove himself before we start giving him the "Glass Chin" title.
