Thanks, I will do the math.

You are going to judge their drawing power per captia instead of by gross sales?

You will be alone there. Everyone else is going to care out how much money was made in total.

When you look at sales averages, Haye doesn't even crack the top 5.

I took a look at the PPV sales for boxing since the early 90's and created averages of sales.

To be fair, I removed mega fights where two top PPV sellers were fighting (Holyfield vs. Tyson for example) to maintain neutrality.

    What I found:

    1. Mega fights between two top selling PPV fighters were never double what each fighter sold independently.

In fact, sales were up by a few hundred thousand at most.

Mega fights I removed from averages for individual fighters:

ODLH vs. Mayweather 2.4 mil buys
Tyson vs. Lewis 1.97 mil buys
Tyson vs. Holyfield 2 - 1.99 mil buys
Tyson vs. Holyfield 1 - 1.59 mil buys
ODLH vs. Manny Pacquaio 1.25 mil buys

    2. Highest buys (single fight) averages

    - Mike Tyson: 1.39 mil average
    - Floyd Mayweather 1.224 mil average
    - Manny Pacquaio 1.123 mil average
    - Evander Holyfield 1.15 mil average
    - Oscar De La Hoya 988 mil average

    3. Most gross (total) buys (excluding mega fights)

    - Floyd Mayweather - 5 fights - 6.12 mil gross buys
    - ODLH - 6 fights - 5.93 gross buys
    - Manny Pacquaio - 6 fights - 5.59 mil gross buys
    - Mike Tyson - 3 fights - 4.17 mil gross buys
    - Evander Holyfield - 3 fights - 3.45 mil gross buys

Note: Keep in mind the popularity of PPV was much less in the 90's than it is today. A fighter like Mike Tyson today would only be fighting on PPV and would be dominating the numbers by a landslide.

Haye never sold 1 million PPV's in the UK, biggest PPV events in the UK were tyson vs lewis 750k and hatton vs mayweather that did a little over a million buys . How much is PPV in the UK ? like $22 ?:lol:

  4. I honestly don't see Haye Knocking out Dereck. I think Haye will get knocked out in 8 rounds max. I just cant see it. Dereck looks good even in his losses. Haye looks like a scared cautious fighter with a glass chin. Haye is average in my mind. He can prove me wrong of course but I dont see it.
