i always had the state of mind that win is a win, does it ruin a gambling angle? or is it just because it is not a convincing result.
Those who bet on the fighter who did not benefit from the split decision are likely the ones booing. Or if the fans feel it was a bad call. I never boo when I'm in attendence at a fight, I just don't think it's very classy.
It doesn't ruin a gambling angle. A win is a win in gambling terms. I figured they booed because a lot of split decisions come in a fight where the crowd has an idea of who won the fight. If they thought fighter A won then a split decision means that fighter A may get screwed. This is my opinion, anyway.
Fans are assholes when their guy looses, especially by split decision. The boards here are the same way. Everyone cries robbery and then sees things more clearly about two weeks later.
Thats very true.. But then again some Split Decisions are just plain weird and should be booed by fans and what not. Like in that Mijares vs Nararro fight... 2 judges gave Mijares a clear win, while the third judge didn't even give Mijares a damn round..
Split Decisions usually lead to controversy....if someone didn't win unanimously, there's always going to be those screaming about a robbery of some sort.
Well its making since man the judge who gave Navarro every round also gave JMM every round vs Barrera and had TOS beating Wlad when it was stopped. That guy needs to be taken out back and shot.
I wonder if that guy even watches the fight. I didn't know this but damn that guy is just ridiculous. So back on topic, this would be a good case where SD should be booed. Seriously, how the **** did that guy get his license to judge fights? : \
