I think that this was a common opinion in 2002 when he appeared to have wasted his win over Trinidad by fighting less interesting opponents. Between Trinidad (2001) and Oscar (2004) there wasn't a whole lot going on for him.

 

I think Palin and Bush get plenty of **** for their lack of brains. If I were to compare the three I would say Palin has the least intelligence, followed by B-Hop and W would reign atop this powerhouse of intellectuals.

Bernard does not always express himself in an educated way, nor would I really call him outright stupid. He obviously knows his craft, which is boxing and the business side of boxing, it took him years of hard work and a ton of experience to learn, you could say he learned the hard way.

He does however, come off as a rather bitter **** at times, thinking he's on some sort of pedestal. He's a bitter, stubborn and hard working man, which suits the game of boxing just right for the long term.
