whatever, everyone knows that Chavez walked through punches his whole career and was a warrior. I tend to think that Chavez is underrated here. As opposed to Whitaker who has a massive following on the classic forum.

i kinda lost all respect for him in his later fights when him and his corner and his fans proved to be some of the sorest losers this sport has ever known... the way he acted toward kostya tszyu was disgraceful and i'm glad tszyu pounded the **** out of him

 

Well, to be honest, the doctor said in the second Randall fight that "he", meaning Chavez, wants it stopped, then the doctor says he can't go on. I think that's what I heard.

 

you can't label a fighter a quitter because he quit in 1 fight. If he quits every time, then you can do it.

Cotto is a good example. He quit against Margarito, but if Cotto is a quitter then why didn't he quit against Clottey when he had a cut above his eye and could have had the fight stopped easily? And why didn't he quit against Margarito after the first knockdown?

 

Arguing with EZE about chavez is a waste of time. He admitted to being a novice and he didn't care about past fighters

i've been one of the harshest on the general forum towards chavez but i would never call him a quitter. he deserves way more respect than that. whatever my problems with him, he had some of the biggest balls in the sports history. he's a sore loser at times, sure. but that's his pride. he carried the pride of an entire nation going into every fight. course he didn't want to lose and it made him pissed off every time he did.

the oscar fights and the randall fight were not examples of quitting. the 2nd randall fight was an example of poor referring and a shitty loophole but chavez didn't make it. whatever else he's done, he's a legend and a warrior and deserves better from us
