When it comes to judging, I have found that one doesn't have to be particularly qualified to get anointed as a judge. That is why we have a lot of incompetence, especially at the local club level scenes. The second being fan friendly styles = judge friendly styles. Fighters who throw big, powerful eye catching shots tend to get favoritism. Similar to how extremely active fighters seem to get the benefit of doubt. You complain about 49-46 against Khan, and I agree with you. Those scorecards were BS. But do you know who got it right? Who had it 48-47 in favor of Khan? Adalaide ****ing Byrd! You know, the same Byrd who put in the now infamous 118-110 scorecard. What do you make of that? Dave Moretti had the first Golovkin fight 115-113 in favor of Golovkin. He however scored the rematch 115-113 in favor of Alvarez? Did they just not happen to buy off him in the first fight? Did they buy off just Byrd? Because Trella had it a draw. Did Trella and Moretti not hold up their end of the deal? If so then it's strange that they allowed Moretti back for the rematch.
It's a problem because it allows corruption to go unnoticed. 'They' are the people who say Canelo never robbed anyone, mostly casuals but there's a few on here as well
Its a bit of a problem if you can be caught red handed cheating and still be the poster boy for the sport!
I didnt know it was Byrd who got it right with Khan, and I agree judging to day is appalling, who the **** on God's green Earth had Wilder winning against Fury by 4 points! I think it's clear as day that Canelo is paying off judges, but at least we're getting a few good fights out of it
Very disappointed with the response times from the on duty Canelo Defence Operative. Questions will be asked
Its clear as day to man they don't even try to hide it! The corruption has all been there but man its getting more and more out in the open lately
I can't believe he isn't being looked into I hope he tries it with a PBC fighter, Haymon is much more powerful than Del a Hoya, I want him to give him a taste of his own medicine And then we watch the Alverites go awal and expose the double standard
So every fight he pays off just one judge? Or he pays off all of them? I myself don't believe anyone was paid off. I however believe there is some shady **** going on behind the scenes, to garner favoritism. Teddy Atlas recently brought it up again; how promoters would wine and dine fight officials before the fight. That it's quite the common practice. Having a close relationship with judges is some shady ****. And in any other sport, it would not be allowed.
If it's not paying them off, it's some seriously poor judging and those involved shouldn't be allowed to carry on. In fact even if it paid corruption, they shouldn't be allowed to carry on
wouldnt educating the judges be more effective? whats 3 guys on esb and a bunch of casuals gonna change? other than hurt feelings?
