David Haye was 1.91m (usyk is 1.9m) and 213 Ibs when he moved up, (former WBA, WBO, WBC, Ring, Lineal, Cruiserweight Champion). There was loads of hype around him. But Klitschko just kept him at the end of his jab.

He was in a 55/45 fight with Briedis.

Briedis is 33....and if he could 'hang with the heavyweights' why hasn't he?

You also can't compare him to Joyce, as he isn't even a top 10 heavyweight (yet).

However I will add that I think he has a very good chance of beating Wilder.

Whereas someone like Joshua/Fury/Wlad have the power/skill combination to keep Usyk at bay.

True but Ali would be a veritable minnow today & it may well be that he would not be able to get away with his tactics as he did with Frazier. Like clinging onto the neck, spinning off whilst punching, switching punching at the same time, he was a genius in his time but the size would beat him, especially when he slowed down...he was the greatest in his era, one thing Floyd said that I have to agree with.

...more like ripples, he is without doubt a really good boxer, tiers above Wilder ,Parker, Joshua & would, if neaer equal size, be good for an on form Tyson Fury...that would be a good fight, but I guess size/power matters?

Usyk has been more dominant at cruiser than Haye, and in a much tougher, deeper division now. Let's not forget Haye already had a stoppage loss on his record before he moved up, and was hurt bad by a 5'10 Fragomeni in an absolute war of a fight. Clearly that guy wasn't on Gassiev/Briedis level, not even close.

You could certainly argue Haye was a better pure athlete, but he also had serious defensive flaws that Usyk does not. Plus, I feel like being Eastern European, Usyk is more used to fighting giants than anglosphere fighters.

It seems you can't give fair assessment of Usyk without his fans getting butthurt.

Great fighter. He’ll likely struggle against the top 2-3 guys though.

It seems some are using Joyce as a podium to prop him up on, but let’s be real; people are doubting Usyk against the big elites, nothing else.

as long as he does not on to much weight 210 to 215 max its usyk workrate and speed that will cause heavies fits

they just will not be able to keep up with usyk

if they cant knock him out they are not going to outwork him.
usyk big danger is one of the big heavies with a punch pulls down his guard in a clinch and catches him clean when they do ala wilder v washington.

or they manhandle him of his feet / shove him into the ropes with him off balance and then clump him big time ala fury v cunningham.

as the lighter /smaller man not much you can do to defend yourself when this happens

its all a bit of guesswork as getting hit by 250lb cvompared to 200lb is a lot of difference / just IMO he has the skillset and style to not get hit clean too much at heavy where he will be used to fighting much fastr men and seeing the heavies punches coming.

moves his feet and head while on range and get in and out / heavies are going to be huffing and puffing trying to keep up with him.

his carrer that is saw in the pro am 5 round fights v much bigger men he looked the part / we will see after the gassiev fight how he does as a pro

gassiev is a 215lb /220lb heavy anyway boiling down to 199

6′ 5½″, 260lb man mountain and savage puncher Aslanbek Makhmudov

You gonna try and tell me this guy isn't a massive puncher?

6'6'', 220-230lb man mountain and Filip Hrgovic

This is the third Cuban SHW Hrgovic has stopped in the last 3 or so years IIRC so he can bang a little bit

The 2 genuine SHWs (6′ 5½″ and 6'6'') couldn't stop Brechlin and he went the full 5 round distance with both but little ''no power'' CW Usyk beat him to the point where Brechlin's corner felt compelled to throw in the towel in round 3 to spare their boy from further punishment. Brechlin was clearly feeling the weight of those shots Usyk was cracking him with too.
