mayweather even pressed a fight for winky, although they could not agree upon the conditions. i think this ducking thing all started by a arum smear campaign when Mayweather bounced and arum was pissed off. When he was in arums stables he wasnt being paid right and not being marketed right, arum was stuck in hoya land. when hoya left,

he looked for his next cashcow, to him, mayweather simply was not that... he was looking for the typical latino guy due to their nationality. he now had cotto, and was not going to feed him to mayweather. mayweather leaves arum then all of a sudden he is a ducker... arum creates this nonsense around margo and thats how it was born. arum had no problem making the cotto margo fight, because this was mexico vs puerto rico, and one of them would emerge as a national hero, while the other would still be usable as a draw. but of course mayweathers celebrity was growing and he became big and arum was missing all that money -- but he had got pac now, and made another smear campaign. Arum is wise, if he cant make money directly off of mayweather he can do so indirectly, by attaching all his fighters to mayweather, and create a buzz and make his fighters seem more imposing then they are making up some nonsense that mayweather ducked them, when arum never had any intentions on a fight between them manifesting.

It's just really highly convenient for many posters here and fans of boxing. It's a selective ignorance that allows them to cling on to the last remaining vestiges of their imagined utopian beliefs that serve to mitigate the career accomplishments of Floyd and undermine the value of his boxing legacy.

There is a list of Casamyor, Freitas, Kostya, younger versions of Cotto n Mosley, and Pacquiao who you could say "ducked" Floyd. Maybe a couple more if you stretch.. But boxing politics are very real. The reason why the list is small is because Floyd really did fight a good number of the best fighters at the best times all things considered.

 

The fact is that if Mayweather had fought all the guys he had supposedly ducked instead of all the fighters that he actually fought then people would say the exact same thing replaced with different names. Boxers can't win with fans because they have different people they can fight at any given time and no matter who they choose some people will say they should have fought someone else. You can't please everyone.
