I have been on many Boxing forums and I just have to ask this question. It's okay to be a fan of one Boxer and not necessarily the sport as a whole for whatever reason but why do people get so offeneded when there favorite Boxer gets criticized on a forum? I've seen people wanting to find each other and actually do harm to them, call each other names.etc At the end of the day we only know what is put out in the news about the Boxer, (Some of it is true some not so true) so we really don't know them personally. What do you folks think?

    Because they are gay homosexuals.

I criticize my favorite fighters all the time when they deserve it.

    Here:

-Tyson was a headcase and should have had a better career.
-**** Mayweather and Pacquiao right now for not having come to an agreement on a fight, and milking the public with these other consolation bouts.
-James Toney is a fat slob.

    See, that wasn't hard.

it mostly comes down to the ethnic race that attaches them to the fighter

Most of the posters here have WAAY too much hero worship. It's like, you can't say anything with the tinyest bit of criticism w/o being called a hater by 5-6 assholes. Fanboys are WAAY more rampant her then any actual haters.

It's quite natural. Go on any type of message board and insult an athlete, or an actor, or a movie, and there will be people that will get offended. For anyone that has a girlfriend, tell her that Twilight is garbage and see how she responds.

Because they're fanboys, not boxing fans. Boxing fans used to be a cynical, hard lot to please and were quick to point out flaws in fighters but now you have a growing contingent that want early stoppages so that their heroes that they blindly worship don't get beat up too badly, they refuse to criticize any part of a fighter's game, and yes, they deny that Glass Jaws exist in boxing because that would imply that their heroes are less-than-perfect.:patsch
