Why do people hate Amir Khan instead of praising him for fighting hungry fighters?

i agree. Most boxers fanny about just trying to get the big money fights. Amir Khan will take on anyone. A true warrior who deserves everyones respect.

He was throwing it blind, it hit Amir Khan on some obscure pressure point on the back of the neck not 'the button' and up until that point Garcia was getting beat up. Cuts above both eyes , his corner panicking. You know very well if they fought 100 times Amir would win 99. I bet if they fought again tomorrow you'd put your money on Amir.
There is no way Danny Garcia is a better boxer than Amir

Not a fan of his by any means, but the dude is exciting and doesnt get the credit he deserves for being as big a warrior as hes been.

    Hes brave, exciting, and daring.

    Watch it again. 7.30 onwards.

    Watch Garcia instead of Khan.

Garcia caught him a few times with those wild looping windmills and Amir ate them, i was when it caught him on the neck that he went down. Amir was rapidly destroying Garcia's face up until then

Turn the commentary down and watch the bout again, even in the first minute Garcia was catching Khan with heavy shots. Khan was winning virtually on workrate, you can't deny he was having success. But it was far from dominant, it was actually very competitive. Like I said, don't ignore Garcia's good work, Khan took heavy shots before he went down. Garcia's work before that may have been a contributing factor.

I don't, actually. I wouldn't be confident in betting on Khan in any fight at that level any more.

Youre underrating Garcias skills, and vastly overrating Khans.

Khan is not a skilled fighter as much as he is a talented one.

Garcia brings just as much actual skill, if not moreso, to the fight then Khan does.

Im not debating this over again, I concede Khan made mistakes..and I accept Danny won fair and square, but I still maintain Khan is the better boxer.

It was dominant actually, Khan was outlanding him at a ration of 4/1, if that's not dominant I don't know what is.

Also in the corner Garcia's trainer "Come on Danny, come on man you've got to do something, come on danny"

Oh yes, certainly a trainer that was happy everything was going according to plan

So it wasn't a lucky punch?

    Fair enough.

But you can't go claiming it was a lucky punch, when it blatantly wasn't.

being lucky isn't against the rules. Danny has a vicious left hook but is not an exceptional fighter. Nice guy, I don't begrudge his success but for me Khan is the better boxer. Unfortunately in boxing you can't quickly make up for one bad day at the office. Khan is being severely underrated.

it wasn't a lucky punch, but at the same time there is this "myth" that Garcia knew exactly what he was doing and was in fact somehow dominating Khan, it wasn't like that, he was throwing that left hook because that's basically all he's got, of course he's going to throw it, Khan was an idiot and walked into it. multiple times.

khan lost that fight, Garcia didn't win it.

You must have missed the question I asked you yesterday. Are you going off compubox stats or are you counting the punches yourself?

Khan was undoubtedly outlanding Garcia, but both boxers were producing clean, effective punching. Competitive bout.

What's wrong with motivation? Garcia wasn't winning, but even if he was, why would you want your boxer to even consider that he can rest on his laurels? :think

Some people really do need to watch this bout again. There seems to be this misconception of this recent bout (it's scary how much this bout has changed in the minds of people from being competitive, to being dominant until the knockdown) that Khan was completely dominating from the opening bell until he got knocked down. Watch Garcia's work. Khan was undoubtedly having success, but just watch Garcia's hard punches land in a lot of exchanges. Khan didn't get reckless for the knockdown, he was reckless from the opening bell.
