I understand why you would dislike mayweather. He does embody a lot of the negative aspects of the hip hop culture(which I hate) (persona?). I see you are a reasonable individual who appreciates boxers for their ability, and I respect that.

He's crazily slick defensively and a very accurate puncher. He's got an extreme amount of skills.

I think part of why people don't like him is that his style is not particularly crowd-pleasing in the traditional sense of the word. When average people on the street think of boxing, the image that pops into their head that they want to see is somebody like the late 1980s Mike Tyson. Mayweather doesn't fit that ultra-aggressive image.

That, and all the money-flaunting I find a bit annoying and bothersome. I understand the need to draw heat to get people to dislike you so they'll pay to see your fights in the hope that you lose, but I think Floyd sometimes forgets where the act begins and where his real life ends.

If he fought more often against formidable opposition and decided to try and come across better, I don't think he'd even have to try and get people to hate him to bring in the buyrates.

Yes, thanks buddy. Like I said, I don't have anything against him ( nor any boxer or person ), it's just that it's not easy to like someone with such arrogance. I feel the same way about Ali, Jones Jr, Trinidad, Tarver and all of Boxing's big mouths.

One thing that I really appreciate is a great boxer with a good heart that doesn't speak of himself but let's others speak about him. My Father always told me to never brag about yourself, let the others do it for you.

I also understand what he went through and that has to be hard as nails. Coming from a disfunctional family like his has to be plain horrible and he needs to recognize and thank God that he never turned out like them.

Floyd should be using his hidden positive charisma to do good and not bad. If he only realized the power that someone with that fame has and put it to good use. He needs to get closer to his Creator, that's what it is. ;)

I don't think all of those accusations are accurate, but yeah I think Floyd is very cautious with matchmaking and activity as he is obsessed with keeping the "0" on his record. We dont know if he really beats women, and he isn't really disrespectful towards fans.

There are many fighters whose personalities are really not likeable, but they aint cowards like floyd. how can you claim you're the best if you dont fight best opponents?

Although the excessive amount of hate did start at that time there was still a sizable amount before hand. I remember reading some idiots posting before the Judah fight that Floyd would never be a draw cuz he couldn't sell out the Mitchell fight....Really they said that ****. Anyways the Mexican fans have for the most part been fans of blood and guts warriors they have never liked slick boxers (I am generalizing of course) and Mayweather gave them the perfect excuse for the hate with this Margarito pr game set up by bob arum. But there are others who hate him besides mexicans (again generalizing) the Filipinos started the hate as a rivalry thing and then the others who were just plain old jealous found excuses in the pac/margarito games started by arum to hate him. But I still don't understand the hatred he got before the judah fight????

This is another excusable reason. I love watching the adjustments and dominance he displays in the ring, but some others want to see punches punches and more punches... I don't agree with that being the only entertaining aspect of boxing, but to each his own.
