Why do people hate Margarito?

i don't think there are people that hate him, he's a warrior. Some people are just in love with the skill set of other fighters

Agreed. He's a great guy. That fight was gutsy.

 

do you know any fighter who was not bashed after his fight? even pacquiao with his exciting style still gets bashed. just accept that not everyone will be sold on the fighter no matter what happens.

 

Don't sweat it. My guess is they're mainly PBF, Williams, Clottey and few still bitter Cotto fans.

 

Margarito doesn't have the generic aesthetic of a flashy signature style or a certain look to attract all the subconciously and conciously gay fans. The fanboys need their favorite fighter to have a certain image or certain physical features. Margarito is just a boxer, no bull****. True fans like Margarito or feel neutral about him. There just aren't as many true fans of the sport of boxing as there are fanboys.

 

I used to hate Margarito, but I now realise I really hated how overrated he was. Around the time of the $8 million offer to Mayweather, some Margo fans were going on about how he would destroy Floyd and knock out every great welterweight you could possibly name, and thus it made me naturally biased against him.

After seeing his entertaining wars with Williams and Cotto I have certainly gained respect for him, I still wouldn't call myself a fan but I will certainly continue watching him fight.

 

honestly... no disrespect to him or his fans but....i dont like his fighting style at all,....i'll take a Judah loss or decision anyday over or Margarito KO, skills and technique are what makes boxing exciting for me...but with that side, i dont HATE him, i just dont really care either way

 

The FANATICS of the other fighters in his division . . . feels he is a real treat to their idols . . . that's why. Insecurity! :deal
