Why do people hate Margarito?

I don't hate him at all, I'm pretty neutral. I think he's overrated though.

 

His skillset I mean. A lot of posters make Margarito sound unbeatable which is crazy. I appreciate and respect his toughness but he's overrated by many.

 

Again, Paul handily won the first 6 rounds. You don't have to like his style, but that's what happened. And as far as Margo starting late, wha? He didn't hear the first bell? HE appeared to start late because he could not overcome those 82" jabs being popped in his face. And when he finally started getting closer, he whacked Paul with some good shots... But do you forget what happened in the 12th???

And believe me. Paul has improved. Are you saying that Margo is the only one who can learn from his mistakes and improve??? Paul lost, but he came back and did what he was supposed to... Wipe the floor with Carlos.

Margo knows he will be in for a rough night if he is forced to face Paul again. He would rather dance around and hope someone else takes care of Paul first.

 

good question... I don't think that he is hated... But for some reason he is not as marketable as other fighters. Sad because he seems to be a great guy in and out of the ring plus a warrior!!

 

I wasn't aware that people did hate him. Certainly not to the degree other fighters are...

mexican legend, why don't you make a poll to get an idea how many people really hate margarito, as you claim. from the replies that i have seen here, not so many people hate margarito.

Here's a few reasons:

Cause you got alot of ppl who love Cotto and thought he was the best guy in the division. And the way that HBO made it seem like it was so sad for Cotto to lose didnt help for his fans.

They felt that if he beat Margo Cotto would force Mayweather out of retirement.

ALOT of ppl lost Vcash because of Margo.

Margo wins one big fight and all of a sudden he's on top of the world.

They feel he doesnt deserve to be where he is because he just lost to Williams a year ago. And he's now being called the number 1 guy in the division, even though the number 2 guy beat him decisively.

And because he basically proved that Mayweather beats Margo anyday because of his style. Which defeats all purpose of statenets saying PBF ducked these guys and would get KTFO'd.
