imo the british commentators are the worse, i wish i jim watt retires from commentating cos all he does is complains, and his voice is just totally annoying. for some reason i like the american commentators. foreman knew what he was saying, he said what he saw, sometimes he flopped too but that can happen if you've been punched in the head by liston, ali, norton and frazier. larry merchant can be biased but i dont mind him, he is 10 times betta than jim watt. jim lampley aint bad either. the british commentators dont know when to just :stfu 3 favourite commentators are max kellerman cos he says the right thing at the right time imo. everytime he says somat he makes sense. for example post fight hatton-catillo he summed up castillo's mentallity perfectly. i enjoy it when he commentates, also he knows the sport and history of the sport. i dont get why guys hate him as a commentator, is it his voice or something?:huh:huh the other two commentators i like is al bernstein and the other guy with him. also the british commentators dont know how to commentate a fight, its like they've already watched the fight, theres no raised voices nutting. "JAY NADY JUST PICKED HIS NOSE, MY WORD! HE SHOULD BE DISQUALIFIED!!!" exclaims a drunk jim watt:yikes.:hat
What pisses off people about Kellerman is that he really wasn't "qualified" for the job. He had no experience in the field or the sport for that matter when he was hired. I don't think he's terrible, but he's not the greatest either. Sometimes he annoys me and I wish vodka breath was in his place
Jim Watt is such a boring, moaney, pasty, Scottish git with the personality of used dishwater, he shoul dhave never been allowed to commentate on big fights, he is by far my least favourite. Kellerman is a twat aswel though both his voice and his eyes annoy me. Ian Darke and Glenn McCrory are okay, I dont mind Johnny Nelson either. The HBO team bar Kellerman are good and Showtime do a great job aswel.
Max Kellerman and Jim Lampley are the best two commentators right now in boxing. I hate British commentators. Don't know what they're saying half the time with their accents.
It is because your an idiot :good Also I have no idea seems like an ok guy whenever I have heard him speak.
i do not like his motormouth high pitch excitable style and why do they not use him during the interval instead of during a round when he goes on for 1 min when the action is going on.
Along with what Cardstars just said, Kellerman is on the sack of a every black boxer he interviews, he reminds me of how I was at 12 when I was getting a autograph from Ken Griffey Jr. I think if he settles down a bit and slows his speech, he might be alright. I just think the transition from slow talking Merchant, to a Kellerman who's on something, was a big change for most people, including myself.
Why wasnt Kellerman qualified? He was the host of two sports talkshows and he has a broadcast on ESPN radio . He is certainly a " voice" people have heard for some time now.
Kellerman is brilliant. He is corny and has a patronising tone, but he has a gift for words and stringing sentences together. I love the yankee commentators like Lampley and Kellerman, and even guys like Dave Tempo or something?(did the Malignaggi fight). They **** all over twats like Watt, McCrory and Johnny "cracking fight" Nelson. I remember Watt saying after one minute of the Mayweather/Hatton fight, "Hatton is alot better than Mayweather thought he was!". Hatton then proceeed to get his ass spanked from that point on.
People hate Kellerman because they hate change. Once Kellerman does his thing for a while people will start liking him. When a new guy gets a job people are always hard on him.
Not QUALIFIED? Just because you didn't know who he was before he got the job - doesn't mean he wasn't qualified for the job. In a statement like that - you not only disrespect him and his talent - but the people that hired him for his talent. Max did a great job on Friday Night Fights. After leaving ESPN - he went to FoxSports - where he not only had his own show - but was still working their Boxing Cards. He was then picked up by HBO's BAD (Boxing After Dark) - where he must have impressed the Heads of HBO to get the position on HBO WBC (World Boxing Championships). So, even if you don't like him - give him credit for putting in his time for the sport he loves - just like us. And IMO - Max is one of the biggest Boxing Fans you will ever see.
He's as annoying as ****!! ...and he tends to be biased after making a prediction (example: Hatton-Castillo)
