Good post for the most part, I myself dont like Kellerman, but he clearly shows his love for the sport, especially when he looks like he holding back wood when doing his post fight interviews. I heard he has family connections with HBO, and thas how he got the job, but either way he obviously loves the sport like all of us, so maybe he does at least deserve a chance.
He just said Castillo might have been washed up. He praised Hatton before he said that anyway. I don't think he was bias saying good and bad about Hatton after the fight. I would hate him if he jump on Hatton dick like Lampley did after the fight.
If he does have family connections at HBO - that's great. Most of us got our job thru someone we know. Use whatever advantage you can to get ahead. :good
Cmon, that's BS and you know it. Max kisses the fighter's asses, he speaks with a cheap NY accent & his eyes bug outta his head like he just snorted an 8 ball................ Long live Larry Merchant...............
I normally just turn the sound off if Max is part of team that nite, and if his "wired-eyed" face comes up on the screen, then it is time for a brewski back in the kitchen.
Max Kellerman. A professional sportscaster. Articulate. Researches well regarding fighters histories. Gets to the point quickly -- no bull****. Tells it like he sees it. Not afraid to admit he was wrong. "Class Act"
Necessarily the biggest boxing fan doesn't make for a good commentator, in my opinion at least. I personally preferred Big George for the entertainment value. He was biased, he was crazy, but he was entertaining. Many find Kellerman rather annoying. There are those who are liked by everyone, those hated by everyone, those liked as well as hated by everyone... I think Max fits in the last category; some people like him, however, it seems most people dislike him and find his personality annoying.
Because people are like sheep and they tend to follow the trend and the trend now is to hate Kellerman for no apparent reason.. Kellerman is a qualified boxing expert that asks relevant tough questions but not in a condenscending way like that old drunk Merchant..I will take him anyday over Larry Merchant..
Well I think most of the hate dates back to when he was on espn and then on fsn. Those shows showed are annoying he really is.
Theres telling it like it is and then theres being down right disrespectful..Larry chooses to practice the latter
