Why do people have a problem with Joe Calzaghe?

His fans are utter twats.

 

After last night's fight, the only possible fights left for Calz if he beats RJJ are Dawson and Hopkins II. I really doubt he'll fight Bernard again, and I don't know if Joe C could get 'up,' motivation-wise, to fight Dawson. We'll see. Pavlik would get rolled by Calzaghe.

 

I'm just indifferent about the cat. I can imagine that even if I had a problem with the guy it would be difficult to bash him. He's pretty humble when you consider his record. I'd still like to see RJJ whip'eem though.

Last night Hopkins proved he can beat Pavlik, The MW champ moving up. that does NOT mean Hopkins would beat top 175ers.

I think people do recognize Joe as a legend. Just not as great as many UK fans want him to be seen. Who's fault is it he feasted on too many hand picked palookas? Or his biggest wins are two old legends (Hopkins and Eubanks), and 2 young fighters (Kessler and Lacy) who haven't done much themselves yet.

Mainly it's the fanaticism of the Calzaghe fans that make other posters hate him. Same thing happens to ALL fighters, not just the welsh.

 

I have a problem with the fact bernard just beat an amazing fighter but some how its turning to "Joe has just beaten Pavlik" it starts to make me angry. When did joe beat pavlik? How did joe beat pavlik? Did he beat pavlik when bernard(on paper!!!)lost to calzaghe? So jermain beat pavlik too right? These people are so stupid its just sad they pollute this site

 

No one is saying that "Joe has beaten Pavlik". It's just that last nights fight makes Joe Calzaghe's win even better. Everyone was saying that Hopkins has no stamina, is too old etc., and last night he dominated a top ten P4P fighter. It proves that Calzaghe and Hopkins are both elite fighters. It proves that the Hopkins that Calzaghe beat was still very good and worthy of his top ten P4P spot.

Joe calzaghe does not have the same style as bernard hopkins so please get it through your thick heads. Calzaghe is more of an aggressive slapper with the ability to change up during a fight at anytime but he aint got no power. Calz would be more in the face of pavlik then bernard so there would be many more oppotunities for pavlik to catch calzaghe then hopkins.

 

So true. The Calzaghe fans are looking a lot like the rabid Klitschko fans.... They've been mocked so many times, they will act EXACTLY like the childish posters they too hated before.
