Why do people keep forgetting that Wilder was also not 100% going into the fight

He was literally half blind going into the fight. Damaged his left eye a day before the fight, he couldn't see out of it due to the blurred vision.

- He damaged his hand (Broke it) in the 4th/5th round and couldn't throw it to full effect afterwards.

Fact: Stiverne was actually looking good in the early rounds but he fell off because he couldn't keep up with Wilder's pace.

People need to stop making excuses.

If Stiverne was in such bad condition, how'd he go 12 rounds? Why did he fight? Why did he look so fresh in the early rounds?

He sure didn't look like he was in poor condition when he was trash talking. :rofl

I like wilder but he ain't Lennox Lewis mate. He ain't knocked out dangerous fighters one after the other. He's a decent boxer with nice long speedy punches. But his basketball player frame, is going to see him get knocked out. Yessir deal with that.

 

Half the battle is getting to the fight healthy, most of us outsiders tend to forget the this. Having said that, I would be willing to guess no fighter comes in the ring at 100% giving all the training and sparring with that leads up to a fight. Wilder won plain and simple, it's not his responsibility for the well being of the other fighter, in fact it's obviously the opposite and he made sure he compounded Stivern's issues.

 

The people who accept Stiverne's excuses are the same guys who accept Haye's toe excuse after his loss to Wlad. Makes no sense.

No one is 100% going into the fight.

If Stiverne really couldn't fight, there was no way he could have went 12 and there was no way he could take Wilder's shots like that.
