why do people keep saying morales got beaten soundly?

I gave morales 1,2,5 and 7 but that was it, pretty clear garcia won,

I had the fight 111-117, something important to mention is that in the 4th round Morales' father was asking him "what are you doing", and Morales answered "le estoy dando chance" that is something like "I'm letting him do it" and his father replied "finish this and let's go home"


This little interaction between fighter and trainer made me realized that Morales hadn't changed. Since his comeback in TV/radio interviews he always mentions stuff like "I don't have to wake up too early to train that's for rookies", also how little he talks about boxing plans, training or the sport in general in his twitter account makes me think that he is just fighting because he gets bored and not because he really want to fight.

the good thing is that he said that his time is over, and that he would like to have one last fight in México just to say adios.

finally Garcia is just a good fighter as Morales said, or maybe he acted a little big scared because he had a legend in front of him (but in my opinion any great young fighter will always try to demolish an old legend if given the chance, just like Morales destroyed Zaragoza and ODLH destroyed Chavez sr)

I agree... I thought it was a close fight.

But it was a close fight with a fighter that he would have destroyed in his prime, so that made it seem a lot worse.

 

I often disagree with IB's scoring. Doesn't mean i don't respect his opinion on every other aspect of the sport.
