Why do people like to jump the gun and say a fighter is ruined after only 1 loss???

I agree with a lot of the posts here, some fighters you can just tell that they are done VISIBLY after their loss. For example, post-Chavez Taylor, post-Tarver Jones, maybe even Pwill and Cotto, but just like that Kessler example it seems to me that sometimes people are quick to write people off just because they lost, even when there was very little physical damage done.

Granted even if theres very little physical damage, there's some psychological damage that comes with losses, but most 'champions' can get over it.

I think it depends on the fighter who lost. I think some fighters like Trinidad, Pavlik, Jones and Taylor were "ruined" when they first lost. None of those fighteres were ever the same again. Part of the reason might be because of the beating they took or they were psychologically damaged by the loss.
Not all fighters are damaged, look at Pacman, Barrera, Morales, De la Hoya, Hopkins and many more.
