Why do people on here refer to Mike Tyson so ruthlessly ?

Yeah, he was very very special, well said.

I think that people are disappointed because he had the physical tools to be the GOAT, or at least top 3, ever, despite his lack of height and reach. But he didn't have the mental tools - people feel let down because he had close to limitless potential - I rank him #8 all time.

One thing that never gets mentioned- Mike Tyson's downfall came laregely because he just didn't have the same desire after Cus died, King cheated him, Givens talked **** about him in public, etc.

We all could see that he wasn't the same fighter at least as far back as the first Bruno fight, then there was getting knocked down by Page in sparring- it just wan't Tyson in there that night in Tokyo, and it never would be again.

In a way, who can blame him? It must be hard to be 23 years old, a multi millionaire, the most famous man on the planet, have your name consitantly mentioned in the same breath as Ali, and yet be compeltely miserable and realize that EVERYONE left in your life is using you.

Thanks for backing my thoughts up fellers.. I think Mike is in need of a bit more appreciation..

I am first to say WTF, when i read some more **** about his behaviour... But i never forget how close that story came to being the best success ever in Heavyweight history..

Yep, i agree. I also wanted to say that Mikes wasn´t the youngest hw champ. that´s still Patterson, Tyson didn´t become hw champ till he beat Spinks and by the time he was older than Patterson when he beat Moore to becoe champion. Tyson was the youngest beltholder, yes, but not champ.

People do like Mike. I just think most boxing fans are sick of talking about what could have been now.

He made me become a boxing fan the first time I saw him fight.

    Tyson-Spinks, live via satellite.

    My favorite heavyweight.

Sad to see the way Mike Tysons career ended up, Cuz dying, Givens and her mother causing him distraction and accusing him of ****, and Don King not intrested in Tyson just in himself, robbing him of all his money.

Yes it's always a tragedy to see someone blow 300mil. I'd put Mike's personal misery in the same category as people dying of AIDS & starvation in Africa. Poor Mike.

Id also say it was because of what could have been,he could have dominated the div for years if he had stayed on the straight and narrow and trained hard etc,but he seemed to slip somewhere along the line, either that or others just caught him up,sometimes a guy in a sport can just be so far ahead when younger, but of course they dont then carry that on further as they get older.
