Why do people pretend that boxing below lightweight matters?

Why are you so butthurt? Is it because your favourite fighter got schooled by an Irishman? :think

Pacquiao is 5ft5 I guess you never bothered to watch any of his fights.
Roberto Duran is shorter than any current Lightweight titlist.

I fully agree, put gloves on an average sized man in good physical condition get them to hit a bag for a few weeks and they would beat the brakes off these world class midgets.

I very highly doubt it. I watched Michael Carbajal beat the brakes off of a guy easily 5'10" 200lbs at a club, these people train to fight, now I would take any trained heavyweight fighter against a little guy.

    Floyd started under 135

    Manny started under 135

    Marquez started under 135

    Morales started under 135

    Barrera started under 135

    Chavez started under 135

De La Hoya started under 135

    This is pure silliness

I agree with the OP. Heavyweight boxing means more than all the other divisions put together. Much more.

Boxing fans have got so obsessed with P4P nonsense they've forgotten that it's the heavyweight champion (NOT the P4P subjective champion) that really matters. It might be an unpopular statement, but even an average heavyweight contender would flatten chocolatito in a few seconds and you all know it, so why do you all worship him?

I'm personally not going to be that reverential towards someone I could take out myself.

You all prefer sitting on your toilet seats drafting your imaginary P4P lists and crowning your imaginary champion than seeing who really gets in the ring and defeats all comers.

Boxing skills and the sport. If you like to think about how hard and amazing big boys are then I can understand why you're less interested in the sport and more interested in what man is on top of other men.
