I didn't agree with it all but I do like his points in 5 and 6.

True, but 6 is a moot point. Canelo was physically faster than Trout. He wouldn't be able to get out of the way of Mayweathers punches in the same manner.

I don't buy that, if that was the case he wouldn't have had any problem making the 144 lb catchweight for the Marquez fight. He's a full fledged welterweight.

He had been out of the ring in a year. He could have made the weight but JMM agreed to take the $600,000. BTW how is he a full fledge WW when guys at 140 weigh more than he does on fight night at 147?:deal

You know damn well he trains all the time and is always in shape. No he couldn't have made the weight, the morning of the weigh in he ran but couldn't go below 145. You don't give that type of money away when you don't have to, even if you're filthy rich. He's not a Jr welterweight.

and plus your initial point was that he could have stayed at 140 anyways. There is no disputing that. Floyd only came up in weight to 147 in order to get a big money fight in Oscar, Shane, Zab etc. None of the other champs at 140 wanted to fight him

Yep he went to WW chasing big money fights. especially since Hatton and Cotto wanted no parts of him at 140. If he could have gotten Hatton at 140 he probably would have stayed around longer.

    exactly.

watch how the white boys get scared as soon as the fight is signed.

money will be the favourite and rightly so.

It's exactly how it goes. "Floyd won't fight him" ..

    fight gets signed.....

    "Oh, Floyd will win"

exactly and equally pathetic are those ***** asses trying to make excuses for Floyd like Floyd personally told them he don't want the fight and is scared.

Floyd will fight him guaranteed and he'll knock his ass out quote me on that.

Yeah, I've been called a ******* recently for wanting Floyd to snatch further greatness, which it will do. Sorry for having confidence in the dude.

    1. 180 is an exaggeration. Canelo is a pretty good big man, Floyd is a GREAT little man in comparison and has the frame to compete. Great little men have done some astonishing things in history. Size along is a factor but Floyd has been weighed by 16 pounds before and managed to do very well.

    2. Canelo is not a much better counter-puncher than Floyd, in fact, he has trouble transitioning his defense into his offense. He moves his head a lot, but rarely slips to come back with a counter. He circles and throws an occasional right off the backfoot, but doesn't punch on the move well. Even at his worst, Floyd is a better counter-puncher.

    3. Trout dropped more than 2 rounds. Floyd isn't quite as sharp or mobile as he used to be, but Cotto used his jab and pressure to close the distance in a way that Canelo hasn't shown. He's hesitant coming forward and isn't consistent in his pressure.

    4. "stalking caliber virtuosity?" Canelo's stamina and output is so far too questionable to be considered a pressure fighter on par with Castillo. Again, inconsistent pressure. He didn't walk through Trout, he exploded and then circled negatively.

    5. This is possible, there is no doubt interest in a passing of the torch.

    6. Canelo has more effective upper body movement at this stage, but he's never fought anyone as accurate as Floyd or as defensively sound. A different fighter in there against Trout might have been punished on the score-cards for running like that. The judges usually have great respect for Floyd's defense, so unless point 5 applies, I don't see it being an issue. Critics claim Floyd gets hit more than he does, but fans and admirers often operate on the pretense he never really gets hit as long as his arms are up.

Canelo has a shot at winning, I like the kid, but you're making him out to be some relentless pressure fighter that he isn't. He's big, he's good, Floyd is aging, but he's very inconsistent and Floyd is still close enough to his peak that his defensive and offensive abilities are soundly intact.
