why do people put duran ahead of pac on atg list???

Duran should rank higher imo. He is #1 fighter ever to me. Rankings are always gonna be subjective and cant be proven right or wrong.

 

Because he's arguably the greatest Lightweight ever, only man to beat a prime SRL, etc.

 

1) Duran's best wins are DeJesus, Buchanan, Palomino, Leonard, Barkley.

Pac's best wins are Barrera, Morales, JMM, Mosley, Margarito, Hatton, Cotto.

I think they are pretty even in this one. Duran has the best win (SRL), but Pacman has a more solid list of wins.

2) Duran was successful from 120 pounds to 165 pounds (45 pounds).

Pac was successful from 105 pounds to 145 pounds (40 pounds).

They are pretty even in this aspect. Duran wins, but not by much.

3) Duran lost against DeJesus, Leonard, Laing, Benitez, Hagler, Hearns. You could say he was the smaller man in most of those loses.

Pac lost against Torrecampo, Singsurat and Morales. You could say he was green in the first two loses.

Both are even in this aspect.

4) Duran was on top level from 1972 to 1989. That's 17 years.

Pac has been on top level since 1998, until 2011. That's 13 years.

Duran beats Pac in longevity.


At the end, I think Duran deserves to be ranked higher. But Pac keeps fighting and will probably rank higher at the end of his career.

 

Ernesto Marcel was better than anybody Pac has ever beaten.

 

Duran beat Leonard in his prime and Duran went 72-1 in his prime. Duran started just about the same age as Pacquiao, and went time 72-1 before facing Leonard two more times, Hearns, benitez, Hagler, barkley, Moore, and other tough fighters. Pacquiao will never beat a Leonard type fighter in heir prime. Pac beating Cotto, Margarito, Clottey, dlh, and Shane lmao at a Catchweight or when they were old is not even close or = Duran beating just Leonard

Why does everyone get mad when people say something negative about duran?

 

Morales ,Barrera,Margarito,Cotto....not one of these guys are anywhere near the league of The Fab 4 and are overrated brawlers with no defense. Not to mention the fact Pac didnt even beat MAB Or EM one in their prime and waited till Marg and Cotto ruined each other.Saying dumb **** like Pac should rank above Duran and if he beats Pbf he will be above SRL is the dumbest **** any of you casual boxing fans/ Pacquiao cheerleaders have come up with, and that says alot seeing as none of you know **** about boxing. Duran beat better comp in a better era without fighting past it fighters and with less weight classes he never asked a bigger fighter to drain himself to fight him because if you are moving up in weight you Have to move all the way up like a man, and Ill give you 3 reasons why Pac wont EVER rank above SRL....Duran, Hearns, Hagler would all crush Manny and anyone he ever fought. Even Manny knows this.

EXACTLY why Floyd and Pac need each other legacy wise....yes Pac has a solid one now but Floyd's scalp i believe is needed to put Pac along the likes of Duran.
