Pac hasn't really done anything since this thread. Mostly just charity work.

Haven't read whole thread yet but 2 of my favorite fighters, especially Hearns who back when this thread was posted was above Pac but that isn't the case anymore.

I agree with most of this but in regards to the weight fluctuations part, while Pac moving up as much weight as he did winning all those titles was impressive, the overall % of boxers fighting in those llowest half dozen divisions or so, is far less then the divisions above.
I'm not downplaying any fighter winning titles in multiple divisionsand wish I could find the figures to back up what i'm saying, but the higher quality and overall depth has almost always been at the higher weights, where it's more difficult winning multiple titles compared to in those lowest divisions where more boxers are able to win titles at 3 or more weights

I might be talked into changing my mind, but off hand I'd rate Pacquiao above Hearns for the simple fact that Pacquiao
was a sturdier fighter with a better chin and endless stamina.
Hearns is much more skilled imo but chin and stamina are criteria that have to be factored in in that its so important to a fighter.

Losing to Leonard and Hagler I don't hold against Hearns, but his losses to Barkley twice and I also feel he lost to James Kinchen, I do hold against Hearns in deciding where to place him amongst the best.
I simply rate Pacquiao higher because of the vulnerability of Hearns to at any moment of a fight get hit with a clean shot and his legs would turn to jelly.

Pacquiao wouldn't made it too far in the 80s...

Pacquiao is the World Champion in 8 different weight classes while Tommy was the World Champion in 5 different weight classes. So, who should be rated higher than the other?

I love Pryor. The Hawk was a non-stop, all action, no nonsense, one-man blitzkrieg. I remember a guy once floored him with a flash knockdown and he was furious. He bounced up and the ref had to pull him off of the other guy to give him a mandatory 8 count. He was a blood thirsty little pitbull, an unholy terror in the ring. He was fast and mean with a gas tank and stamina I haven't seen outside of Pacquiao and Armstrong.

Here's one for your scrapbook, George. One of the best amateur bouts you'll ever see.

I love Pryor's style too, what he did to Cervantes was brutal. The first Argüello fight is one of the best ever. I don't like him though, he seems a bit slow(not in a charming way) and obviously the whole bottle things. That's just me, though.

I've seen it, it's awesome. Really wish it lined up for them in the pros.

You ever seen Frank Fletcher? He's like Pryor, although less skilled, but was in ATG war after ATG war and is hardly mentioned. He was in more, but the ones I remember finding on YouTube were Caveman Lee, Ernie Singletary, James Green and Clint Jackson. All amazing. If you like Pryor, you'll like his middleweight equivalent.

God same love the motor city cobra but Pac-Man edges him. I can’t deny pacs greatness. Undefeated Thurman at 40 odd years old. What a win on top of an already ATG resume.

had they fought Hearns wins obviously

Pac is obviously above Hearns now but also obviously not when this thread was first created.
You can ignore the 8th division title, but 5 lineal titles in different weight divisions is undeniable and perhaps will never be seen again.
Plus he one-upped Duran's win over Barkley too by defeating an undefeated Thurman at 41 and becoming the oldest WW champion.
I won't even be surprised if people would now rate him above Duran.
