God bless Oscar. I'm happy for the guy. If I could do what he does, I would do it in a second and milk it for all it's worth. Jealousy is a stupid thing, as is bitterness.

One of the best moves ODLH made was hiring BHop to be on the Golden Boy team. Oscar could have been a d*ck after getting KO'd by Hopkins and not hired him but that is stupid business. Oscar set aside his own disappointment and got himself an excellent partner.

    That's how it's done, folks.

If it weren't for Oscar, the sport would be in a lot worse shape today than it is, IMO. And I'm not even a huge ODLH fan. But I respect him, his accomplishments and what he's done and is doing for the game.

i understand and agree with what you're saying too.

there's always going to be a double -edged sword to this point of view though and i don't see many fence-sitters.

No, you're absolutely right, and it's a good point. I know I myself have gotten ticked off with ODLH many a time because of reasons like the ones Jack Prescott mentioned in his last post (bad PPV's ODLH/Golden Boy was involved in) or just because of less noble and petty feelings at the moment. Unfortunately, that's part of human nature.

Bottom line for me (and probably you, Bad Intentions) is that I can sit and hate on ODLH, PBF, etc for making $$$ until the cows come home and all it's going to get me is a bad mood and some wasted time. Or, I could give them props (or just do something else and ignore their financial status), see if there's anything I can take from what they're doing and go and try to make my own large or small financial empire.

I've often found that the people who have the most animosity towards those who are successful are either unsuccessful themselves, insecure with what success they have had and/or don't know how to go about becoming successful in their own lives. So instead of doing something about it they just find other things and people to ***** about to make themselves feel better about their own lives. That's sad, and unproductive.

One of the worst examples of this are people who would fit into what many think of as the 'white trash' classification. Some of these people lead truly miserable existences but they're secure in their own minds that they're better than the most successful African-American or Latino simply because of their skin color or ethnicity. Most of us know people like this or have dealt with someone who feels this way and it's pathetic.

Thanks for the post, man! :good
