Why do people say about any fighter with a low left hand...

Well, a lot of the younger generation of fighters did look up to Roy. No he didn't "invent" the low left hand, but he made it look so effortless that a whole lot of guys who would have benefited from a more conventional stance thought they could do it also.

If you don't have exceptional speed, you better have a hell of a chin to fight this way.

 

You spend your entire career honing your reflexes to use that low hand stance, so that you step out of the way...until that fight when your reflexes aren't what they used to be and you get caught...

 

Using the first two you could go with, he keeps his hands by his balls because he is a master baiter.
