Why do people say Floyd never overcame adversity?

I won't lie, the first Castillo fight was close and could have easily went to Castillo (I had a draw).

But then he won the rematch, so that means he DID come back after a loss (to some) and overcome.

    Floyd is a legend

Because after the castillo fight he fought c level fighters or past prime fighters.

Honestly his post Castillo resume is horrible. Only Hatton and Cotto are decent wins for him in 13 years.

Remind me again when another fighter beat JMM 12-0, beat Paquiao comfortably, beat canelo easily.

Did you just miss the entire thesis of my post. All good fighters were post prime or green besides Hatton and Cotto.

Cotto win is underrated but Cotto was past it at that point

Canelo win was good though and the Pacquiao win is always going to be at least pretty good

But I will say this in the rematch against Castillo he did erase all doubts ..Did he over come adversity somewhat fighting with a torn rotator does test a fighter..

Of course. His best weights were 126-130. And Floyd cheated on the scales. Tainted win.

None of the wins he had post Castillo are totally legit.

    Marquez- Old and blown up
    Hatton- Dragged up
    Pacquiao- Old and blown up
    Cotto- Brutally KO'ed twice before
    Canelo- Drained and Green

He has two really good wins. Corrales and Castillo II. Other than that no. He's done little in 13 years to warrant this praise.

I've always said Mayweather in the lead up to the Castillo fights was legit.

He defeated Corrales in great fashion. Had a close fight with Castillo, but then dominated him.

    After that, meh.
