He went up to light middleweight (193 lbs) from his natural weight of 154 lbs was outweighted by john ruiz (226 lbs) by 33 lbs. And took clean shots from him and still stayed up even with all the disadvantages. And Ruiz almost got knocked down/or out once in the fight, jones hurt him more than john hurt jones. even though ruiz might not have been the best heavyweight he is still a heavyweight and they all punch hard especially to someone that started at 154 lbs.

After he went back down he was TKO by Tarver and went into a fight with Glen Johnson still suffering concussion symptoms and got KO'd again.

His chin never was the same after that.

His chin has been like paper mache ever since the Tarver series finished

Was fine beforehand ,his resistance just diminished in a flash

His chin was never good. His atg defense covered it up.

First, 154 was never his natural weight. None of the 154ers of today are natural light middleweights. He boiled down and made the weight, but there was nothing "natural" about it.
Second, he had a glass jaw for once he started to fight around his natural weight, 175 and up.
One he couldn't use his (un)natural athleticism anymore, by getting older and stiffer, the chin came into play.

I suspect the back to back, bad looking KO's against Tarver and Johnson led to the idea he had a glass chin. That and Johnson wasn't seen as a puncher and that KO was bad, it's one thing to get KO'ed by a big puncher like Tarver but against a guy who hadn't stopped anyone in over 3 years it's not a good look.

Many strong chin fighters have been knocked out. Im just trying to highlight he does not have a bad chin in fact I would say it is really good. Someone with a bad chin would be like amir khan or alistair overeem IN MMA

Roy has twice as much fights as khan and fought into older age and bigger fighters than him.

Rjj put on all that muscles to be able to fight Ruiz and then after that dropped down to light heavy was his biggest mistake. Cutting all the weight took his reflexes, chin and soul away. He was never the same after that. It’s sad...
