Why do people say that Pacquiao is faster than Mayweather?

I'm still waiting for someone to post some footage that proves Floyd is faster. I don't want to see him on the punchbag though.

People can't see Manny's punches coming as he uses angles and puts em together with speed and power. The fact that Floyd will try to impose a jab or a leading left hook instead of pot shoting him a la baldomir, a la Hoya or a la Hatton proves that even Mayweather is not sure he can outspeed him with reflexes and agility. Huge test in line for Floyd's skills and athleticism.

Floyd has never relied on his handspeed to win him fights. He fights tactically. His speed is certainly important, but his timing and awareness are what get his punches in.

nice try. they may know where the punches are coming from but they get hit because floyd is a master of exploiting openings and the momentary imbalance created when his man is committed to a (missed) shot. therefore, floyd hitting them is not purely a function of his absolute speed.

Any handspeed difference between them in neglible. Id be inclined to pick Mayweather as a speed advantage, because of his reach.

Reflexes will be a massive factor in this fight. Catchman doesnt have them, he gets hit far too often. Mayweather will counter-punch the **** out of Catchman all night long, and Cockroach's gameplan may aswell have been a used tampon.

    Mayweather TKO 11.

hard to say. but they both are very fast. not much difference. but the thing with you guys is that you concentrate too much on speed. great timing can beat great speed. which is what mayweather has to use to beat pacquiao.

Thank you for actually posting proof instead of just talking ****. That left hand at 1:30 was pretty fast, but probably the fastest thing i ever seen pac do. Then again, its easier for me to remember single shots from floyd because he throws single shots. Pac throws too many punches for me to remember LOL and the ones I do remember(the KO punches) are usually slower cause he loads up a little.

I think the argument is pretty pointless, to be honest. Even if Floyd is faster than Pac, or Pac is faster than Floyd, the gap is so small that it's not that significant. They're on the same general tier in terms of speed...no point trying to see who is a 'hair' faster than the other. Judah and Khan are also on the same tier, in my opinion.

Speed is not the factor here they are both fast and use their speed in different ways. I think styles make this one. Can Floyd make him miss and counter all night. Or will Manny just be too much.

Spot on. But like Dorfmiester alluded to its pac angles which will be the problem for floyd. After the hatton fight I still could't believe that straight left.

Floyd is quicker. He gets his punches off quicker. Pac fights a crazy fast pace. When he gets going he stays on level 10. Floyd is more settled and then you blink and he tags you. He lost some speed in the ODH fight but he looked faster in the Marquez fight.. We shall see.

Are you stupid. PBF can actually hit you when u know he is going to throw a punch. I remember in the fight with DLH and JMM. They saw him coming forward and throw just plain straight rights repeatedly and they would all mostly land.

Pac has to paw his right a few times to land that straight left. He cant just land it right off the bat.

Never mind u sound like a ******* so im going to ignore yuo.
