Why do people say Tyson was visibly out of shape against Douglas?

And if it was a bodybuilding contest he would have won. Great.

Unfortunately, it was a boxing match which we was not as prepared for as he should have been.

So you admit that Tyson wasn't overweight at all and it's just another fantasy from the nuthuggers??

There's pictures of Tyson with Don King on some sort of desert oasis. Publicity shots or something like it. Tyson was at least 30-40 lbs. overweight. These were shot in late '89 early '90.

The claim I have read is that he was 260 in late 1989.

The wheels were falling off his run. It was a progression starting as far back as the Cus days. His handlers did their best to control it but their measures were only band aids.

Buster gets all the credit in the world for not being intimidated by The Tyson Effect and nutting up when he got knocked down. Still, if it wasn't Buster, it would have been someone else sooner than later

Why are you wasting time with the worst poster on the forum?

I'm not talking about 1989 I'm talking about weeks before the fight, lots of nuthuggers claim their hero and to lose lots of weight quickly which isn't the case is it?

But what is your point exactly? You don't like it when people "make excuses" for Tyson--do you want everyone to just pretend that he was in peak form in Tokyo? :huh

The word before the fight was Tyson was not training hard and his disinterest showed with being dropped by Greg Page in sparring. His camp if I remember reading right was a constant battle to keep him training for the fight.

I remember when he entered the ring he was down in weight but looked soft in comparison to other fights.

His demeanor once in the ring matched everything that was said before the fight his eyes had no fire, he appeared unusually relaxed and even had a content look.

The talk was Tyson was getting tired of training hard, he hadn't had many challenges in his title reign and was struggling to stay motivated.
