Why do people say Usyk is too small for Joshua and Fury but still favour guys like Ali and Holmes?

I wish to ask you: how do you think, Holmes from 1980th might had landed the same number of punces on Ali from 1962 th like he did vs Ali from 1980 th?

    Are you blind?
    Yes, you are blind.
I really even do have doubts that you even had watched Ali from 1960-1962 th and 1980 th.

Do you think Usyk might not run circles around panda lika A.J in rematch or beat up Pulev?
Regards to Pulev, I think Dorticos, Briedis and Usyk too are capable to KTFO Pulev, even pre covid era Povetkin 40 y.o and 224-225 lbs.

Yes, I agree that if properly landed Ruiz like Povetkin might KTFO anyone IF properly landed. the same Briedis and Dorticos too.

Ali was considered to be very long and lanky for his day and often employed his reach advantage over most of his opponents. Sure his speed was immense for any heavyweights but let's face it he's not facing the same degree of bigger but better coordinated heavyweights we see today that could simply bruise their way past that. He'd still bamboozle most heavyweights out there today but I fear the top level may be a step too far for him.

Because people are not always consistent with their logic and allow how they feel about a fighter influence their opinion. Nobody is free from bias, whether it be nostalgia, nationality, preference for a certain style, size or personality we can all allow our preferences to influence our opinion, myself included.

I'd also add Holmes and Ali's careers are over and we've all witnessed how great they were and so it's hard to pick against them against Joshua who still has much to prove as does Usyk at least at heavyweight anyway. So picking Joshua over Usyk and not Ali or Holmes doesn't seem unreasonable.

I'll add that Andy Ruiz is shorter, with a shorter reach than Usyk and beat Joshua, why can't Usyk? While I favour Joshua I wouldn't be shocked at all if Usyk won, way less surprised than when Ruiz beat him.

Do people even remember this fight correctly?

Usyk won that fight 9-3 because he chose not to engage the first couple of rounds. After that he nearly stopped Chisora and dominated. Not to mention, Chisora has fought everyone. He's been on the short end of quite a few close decisions as well. It's not like he is getting smoked by every top guy he faced.

While i'm a fan of Usyk and what he has done (unifying the CW division all outside his home country) i think at HW he will struggle at the elite level because he is too hittable. And against the very big hitters i think he will eventually be TKOd.

It's not the weights. Ali and Holmes were All Time Great Heavyweights. Usyk hasn't proven he is. At this point, Joshua has a better resume than Usyk for sure. That's not to say that Usyk can't win the fight, but, because of politics and location, he probably needs to stop Joshua or dominate. I'll leave it to you to decide if he can do either of those things to Joshua.

Well, in many ways they are.

They are huge, fit, and could probably put the average man in a coma if they hit them as hard as possible.

I got into it a little in another thread about the potential size of future heavyweights and whether there would ever need to be a new, super heavyweight division.

Imagine, a heavyweight boxer who is over 7ft, weighing in at over 300+ pounds, who moves like flyweight, has the cardio of a middle distance runner, and hits like a freight train.
