Why do people say Usyk is too small for Joshua and Fury but still favour guys like Ali and Holmes?

Because unlike Usyk Ali and Holmes fought and proved themselves in the limitless division at young ages instead of messing around and cutting down to a div below which they probably both were capable of doing at the beginning of their careers but they were hungrier than that

What the hell are you on about? The general consensus is that the greatest era for the heavyweights was the 70's followed by the 90's so its safe to say that the likes of Ali, Foreman and Lewis would wipe the floor with today's crop. This obsession with size and weight is entirely missing the point that ATG fighters are the real deal and would be champions in any era. I've got a suspicion that Usyk will pick Joshua apart if he gets past the first few rounds. Fury would be more of a challenge as he has a number of intangibles that mark him out as a potential ATG.

Ali did genuinely great things against genuinely great fighters

Who fought actual heavyweights. See how it's actually impressive and not a knock when your honest about it?

Usyk is the same size and went up and went the distance with a journeyman and is called great because he's a "natural cruiser" so what does that make Shavers who you claim is the same but had all time greats on the canvas?

Lewis is a different breed of fighter compared to Ali.

A bigger, longer fighter with good outboxing skills would beat Foreman. He had a horribly crude technique. Legacy of a poor amateur background. Jimmy Young beat Foreman.

Fury would UD Foreman and TKO Ali.

Shavers was a cruiserweight who fought other cruiserweights.

There was no such thing as a ***** cruiserweight in those days. Your 200 pounds you fight whoever's in front of you back then

Modern cruiserweights are the same size as 70s heavies.
Are you going to pretend Bob Fitzsimmons and Gene Tunney are also comparable to Fury? They too were "heavyweights".

Ali`s prime was as world champ in the 60`s and Liston`s arms were clearly freakishly long, Jones didn`t have Ali`s chin and he wouldn`t have been able to take the hook that Cooper dropped Ali with, nor could he have taken, Frazier`s hook that dropped Ali in the 15th of TFOTC.

Not without getting countered, Ali was a better, faster counter puncher than Fury.

There were plenty of heavyweights back then that were the size of modern heavies in the 60s 70s and 80s you just never heard of most of them because they couldn't go 15 hard championship rounds and the ones that could Ali and Holmes beat them so convincingly they became unremarkable in a historic sense. One could also argue that the extra mass a guy like Chisora, Joshua or Ruiz bring to the table hurts them more than helps them but that's a matter of opinion I suppose

Tunney and Fitz are too far back to be relevant in this discussion imo. I believe that for multiple reasons they are bad examples I would prefer to avoid that discussion.
