Why do people seem to reckon Pac will the same fighter upon his return to the ring?

Not a big of a KO as JMM's but maybe Lewis vs Rahman? Then again that was more of a fluke and they fought only twice. Pac and JMM has had many wars and JMM has mastered that big overhand right.

...it can be done and solid returns have happened. That said, I'm not so sure Pacquiao will be one of them. So I'd tend to agree that he'll never be the same. His style is so dependent on physical gifts (footspeed, handspeed, raw explosiveness). One bad KO loss can send a fighter like that on a downward spiral if it physiologically causes them to lose a step or two and makes it neurologically easier for opponents to disconnect them from their senses.

 

You are absolutely correct but to be honest anyone who he fights from here on out is likely to be prepared to sit down on their punches.

I don't know if I would even put him in with Bradley as you say he has a fairly good right hand. He really needs someone to save him from himself no matter what he thinks, he needs to take it easy because he could end up ruined - see Roy Jones who thought when he fought John Ruiz that a few years later he would be considered a glass jawed joke?

 

what do you mean paul williams won his 2 fights after martinez i no lara was a robbery but his chin looked fine to me in that fight.

I disagree. He pummeled Margarito and was well ahead on the scorecards. The fight should have been stopped! Manny did everything in his power to get him outta there, but at a certain point anyone with a conscience has to think rationally.

Margarito had nothing left. I doubt Pacquiao wanted to bear the burden of giving someone serious brain damage or worse.

 

On predictions and not flash KO's alone, which non Mayweather/Marquez fighter knocks Pac out? Or even beats him? His speed and power is still there, and just because he's been taking the defencive opponents doesnt mean anything is lost.

BUT, fighters sometimes never come back the same. People mention Hatton, but I think he's in a different catagory. Pac might have really been effected by this, MIGHT, but I don't think it's fair for anyone to predict it until we see him get out there. You think Pacman will be running scared though?
