 if hashim rahman (a wannabe liston) can knock him out, i have no doubt, liston would. makes me laugh to. the way lewis got outjabbed by the ghost of Tyson who had a 71 inch reach. imagine what liston would do. don't get me wrong lewis had a good jab a great jab actually. but the problem is liston had a KO jab. Lennox didn't do enough to beat Ray Mercer in my opinion. Ray outjabbed Lennox and outfought him. Sonny Liston was better than Ray Mercer. Better jab and brawling tactics. Better uppercut, too. Take Lennox's poor chin into account, too. No way he beats Sonny Liston, o. it's funny cause you mention ali knocking liston out even though the fight was fixed yet u don't mention lewis getting knocked out by mccall and rahman. Just STFU biased clown.

only foreman outbrawls lewis sorry for that information bud.
lewis had it all in spadefuls. height, power, speed, reach, confidence, grit, dirty tactics.
if this legend liston wants to outbrawl lewis he would be eating mat before they even got started. trust me Lennox lewis may appear to be a placid jamaican/brit but he would rough up anyone.

There seems to be two arguments here - Tysons Vs Listons power and Fraziers chin.

He's my take on both. Tyson and Liston probably has similar one punch power, who had the greater we won't ever know, but I'd lean slightly to Tyson. That said, Tyson's combination punching was astonishing and this was the cause of many of his KO's and this in my opinion would give him a real world KO power advantage over all heavyweights.

Frazier's chin was not glass but it was not on par with the great heavyweights and I think was his achilles heel when faced with a big puncher - so I'd say not glass but pretty average for a heavyweight champion.

Like he smashed Holyfield to the ground? He'd box with Liston, not slug with him.

Eras once again come into play. Let Liston be born in 1960-70 and he would have 'schooled' virtually ANY of the modern guys you mentioned, not to mention that if the modern guys you mentioned had been prime in the late 50's, early 60's Liston would have tore them a new behind as well.
Plus, the age thing with Sonny. He could well have been 30 yrs. old already in 1960.
How old was the Sonny you saw on tape? We'll never know; and you seem like just another poster troweling out the "eras" comparisons.
Sonny, yes an enigma but truely an ATG bad-ass.....
Back to Joe's chin please, that is the thread here for pete's sake.

The way Frazier was fighting, the height difference, Foreman's aggression, etc..Frazier was getting clocked in such a way that he should have been out for the count but wasn't. Watch a different angle on the last punch of the first Foreman fight. Anyone who thinks Joe's chin was glass is ignorant.

in my book the beating that Joe took from Foreman can't be considered like proof that Frazier had a glass chin, because:

    a) Against Foreman's bombs even Godzilla would look glass-chinned :yep

    b) if anything, that fight proved actually the opposite: Joe had not a glass chin, because he was able to get back on his feet not just once or twice, but six times! Lesser guys would have gone down like a bag of lead, but Joe kept going back for more ... how he managed to get up after the 2nd knock down I will never understand :!:
