Why do people think Lennox Lewis had a bad chin?

KO'd twice by non-elite HWs and also wobbled or hurt on a few occasions, like against Tucker, Klitschko and Briggs.

China-chin is harsh, but it definitely wasn't iron. I would agree with posters who rate it as average.

I disagree vehemently... Wlad never got one shot wrecked like Lennox did. He was badly gassed against both Puritty and Brewster, and took a ton of clean heavy shots, before finally succumbing, he was still dodging shots from AJ when he was stopped, and even Sanders dropped him 3 or 4 times, and he was going to get up from that one. Lennox however, pretty much got straight KTFO twice.

I’m fed up with arguing with people like you. You just don’t like Fury and so you’ve made it your life’s mission to discredit him in every way possible.

Dude Lewis was on total Bambi legs that's a fair stoppage if I've ever seen one.

Take off the biased glasses and look at how he's veering from one side to the other on unsteady legs, basically falling into the ref's arms.

Briggs had him wobbled multiple times, Tucker hurt him and Klitschko did too.

Lewis was all over the place. I’ve seen fighters with no legs survive so who knows. But he was stumbling all over the place.

I am talking about seriously hurt, not wobbled or stunned.

Almost everyone agrees that the Oliver McCall fight was stopped too soon.Lewis would have gone on to outpoint McCall on that night imo.

I'm fed up with people like you saying Fury is the goat when he has the worst resume of most any champ. Go cry yourself to sleep.

He was twice stopped by opponents he shouldn't have been stopped by in dramatic fashion and that tends to lead people to trash fighters. It's would be more understandable if he'd been KO'ed by Bowe and Tyson and then avenged those defeats as they would have been seen as serious threats or even favourites had they both not ducked Lewis but to lose to a fighter who you should dominate tends to leave a negative impression of a fighter.

I think Lewis had an average chin, it's wasn't granite that's for sure but it wasn't glass either otherwise guys like Vitali, Briggs, Tua and Mercer would have KO'ed him too as they all caught Lewis with some hard punches.

I see the McCall and Rahman losses as more of an indictment of Lewis own over confidence or even arrogance as a fighter rather than a slight on his chin. Lewis was a fighters who's level of performance depended on the threat he perceived in his opponent. Hence why in the first Holyfield fight he utterly dominated Evander but in the rematch when he believed he was the better fighter under performed often neglected the jab that had given Holyfield so many problems in the first fight.

After the Mercer, Briggs or Klitschko fights nobody can seriously say Lewis didn’t have a very decent chin. It wasn’t granite but it was very decent, much better than many would try to make you believe. Also, the McCall fight was arguably stopped prematurely.

Think about it, Lennox Lewis two defeats were knockout losses to Hassim Rahman and Oliver McCall . Both losses were not decision losses or TKO losses, Lewis was laid out by these two fighters. Sure he defeated both in rematches, especially the tearful McCall who claimed to be suffering from a nervous breakdown but nonetheless both defeats on Lewis were clean knockouts unless a conspiracy theory exist, and Lewis faked it. I believe all of the Sonny Liston conspirators are deceased, so they did not have Lewis take a dive.
