Watch the latest 24 7 where Steve Forbe's is countering Ortiz.

Then tell me if he has a chance against Floyd.

I won't be, because I don't think PBF will stop Ortiz. I'm still blown away at the short selling of Ortiz, he's good strong fighter who is going to be tough for anyone. I don't see PBF stopping him, I do believe he wins, but I don't believe anyone in the weight range beats him...so that isn't a knock on Ortiz.

I see that punch happening all night too.

Ortiz stance makes him perfect for a str8 right to the body. Zab had a stance that gave him more body protection but was also raped by Floyd's str8 rights to the body.

I see it, imo Ortiz will lead with hes head, bull rushing in, Floyd gotta keep distance, Ortiz wants to fight close.

    Floyd gotta be aware early.

Floyd won't stop Ortiz. Ortiz would have to be severely cut for there to be a chance of that.

Ortiz is reckless. He gets hit with punches that he shouldn't. Also his chin isn't that good.

His chin mainly. I kind of laugh when people make it out that he has a good chin. Yeah, he got dropped by Maidana that has pretty good power at 140 but he got dropped and badly hurt by Berto at 147 who doesn't have big-time KO power, it's more his handspeed that does it. Guy just doesn't take punches too well, no matter the weight class....similiar possibly to Khan. Money might not have alot of punching power but he has enough that it will deter Ortiz and wear him down enough where eventually he'll get caught by one he doesn't see and timber. Also, and I don't think it's been mentioned, but word is he doesn't like to get hit even in sparring and when he lost to Maidana, in the interview he said "I don't deserve to get hit like this". It's sort of already in his mindset.

Floyd hasn't scored a KO in years. The last was against a junior welter who moved up in weight to fight him. He hasn't knocked out a legitimate welter and didn't put JMM, a lightweight, away.

I highly doubt Floyd knocks out Ortiz. Perhaps a ref or corner stoppage, but not a "taking a nap on the canvas" type KO.

However, there are some really good points made in this thread.

I will help you if Bert couldn't right but I expect you to follow and do not argue with my good will and help. Ortiz only knows how to walk through punches and slide his straight left when someone exchanges with him or what is the same, lets his right foot step in inside his opponents guard. Happens that Mayweather will never let he step in with punches so what's left for him after the first round onslaught to create the impression that he is going to be aggressive throughout and even may make him win a first round, the man will have to fight at long range with a right lead he doesn't know how to use so he's going to keep on moving through punches and getting tagged several times has Floyd rolls out of his defesive shell and sneaks that right blaster in his face ( just like Hatton from the very first round). Why won't Victor be first with his left? Simply because he cannot position himself to get that punch at the proper distance or reach that will make his opponent viable to be hit. After five rounds, that is around round six, Ortiz is getting weary and getting hurt of tryin on offense so he moves back to defense and that's when Floyd corners him and lead left hooks, radar jabs and smashes right hands, basicallly makes the referee intervene and stop the bout around mid of round 7. Bert right on that one and I am far from being a Floyd fan or agreeing with the man of the cigar and the hat all the time.

    PBF aint stopping anyone.

First of all PBF does not exchange with fighters. He pot shots. Ortiz will not get stopped by pot shots. The times he has gone down were time when he and his opponents were trading in fast combinations and he got caught.

PBF takes basically all risk out of his fights. Ortiz will be coming back with big shots at all time and when PBF feels those shots on his gloves he will be very tentative to land more than one at a time.

I think PBF does taste the canvas here too. Ortiz is faster and hits harder than the Mosley PBF fought. I can see the same result when Ortiz lands a left hand or right hook.

most people who last the ditance with floyd either have good defense, or iron chinned or Iron willed.

Ortiz is neither of these 3.

Like Pacquiao, Ortiz tends to "dive" in throwing combinations behind a lackluster jab (if he even throws the jab to set them up). Unlike Pacquiao, Otreez does not have the speed to make that strategy work, and, more importantly, Floyd is not a defenseless zombie like the one dimensional dead men that Pac has faced as of late.
