Yet, he had more title defenses than either Marciano or Dempsey.

For those who followed his career at the time ( and not backtracking ) his decline came from poor handling and an erratic lifestyle.... Not accelerated aging..

And what were they doing at the age of 20? Likewise Ali, Foreman, Lewis, Holmes, the Klitschkos, Louis and the rest.

I'd be more offended if a poster like Mendoza or anyone else with any credibility whatsoever said that to me. From the likes of you, I take that as a compliment. :yep

    True.
Tyson was overated for a long time especially while he was still fighting. Since he has become underated. I have him in my top 10. He unified the heavyweight title. Made people give a **** about the heavyweight division again.
At his best he was a force of nature. Speed, power and skills. Tyson was Must See TV. So it turned out he wasn`t unbeatable but he is still an elite all time great heavyweight IMO.

Out of interest, if there was a thread about whether Jimmy Wilde was the best flyweight to come out of Wales, would you still manage to make reference to 'Lenni' being a 'chinny girl' who gets knocked out by 'one shot to the face'? Broaden your horizons a bit UFC. You're getting predictable.

By the way, several top heavies have been knocked out by one shot. Ali almost turned the trick against 185lb Henry Cooper. Ibeabuchi, renowned for his chin, got sparked in sparring by Kirk Johnson. Holyfield almost managed it vs Bert Cooper. Ezzard Charles, Joe Walcott, Sonny Liston all managed it. It happens.

Lewis, when prepared, took some serious shots from the likes of Bruno, Holyfield, Mercer, Briggs. He took Vitali's best shots when he had one foot in retirement and was overweight and out of shape. When McCall hit him it was a sucker punch that caught Lewis coming on, magnifying the effect. Rahman caught him with his mouth open as he was knackered having done no preparation at altitude.

If you're only going to have one point, you could make it a better one.

Dont tell me what to post and not to post.

I am sorry but when did Ali actually get knocked out and lost a fight by one big shot to the face? Do not talk about almost? Did it actually happen or not? Did the likes of Holyfield, Liston ever lose a fight due to one big shot to the face? Your chinny girl didn't even take any punishment in his losses to justify loosing to the one big shot the face and no it just does not happen. We are talking about actual boxing matches not fairy tale sparring sessions.

So Holyfield is an all time great powerful puncher now.

First of all Danny Williams on record has said that Vitali did not punch very hard. Second of all, why is the chinny girl using his lack of preperation as the reason behind his losses due to one big shots to the face when he miraculously survived and got lucky due to the cuts stoppage against Vitali and defended his poor showing on lack of preperation.

More excuses Lenni was counter punched but i have seen the likes of Holyfield, Tyson, Mayweather and co take a punch to the face that surprised them very well. Lenni was not out of shape or unprepared in that fight, he just did not take that punch to the face very well which i can bet you the likes of Tyson and Holyfield would have taken, re adjusted for their mistake and carried on.

Another re****ed excuse. Do you think Tyson was prepared for the Douglas match or the Lewis match in 2002. Tyson was breathing heavy very early into those fights and was terribly out of gas mid way through those fights. Yet he still took hook after hook, jab after jab, right hand after right hand, upper cut after upper cut to the face for 10 rounds and 8 rounds where his eyes were badly damaged and he couldn't even see out of one of them. So don't give me this excuse of Lenni chinny was badly prepared, he was caught off guard, he did not have preperation, that is no excuse for not being able to take a big shot to the face.

There is very reasonable cause to question lenni's chinny suspect chin.

I have seen all his fights and he used his excellent boxing skills, height, power very well to keep fighters from getting to that face. When hit he had very good boxing instincts and defensive instincts to survive, definately better than Bruno but his chin was very suspect and had he faced his main competitors in their primes there would have been more Mccall's and Rahman's in his career.

Tyson was definitely prepared for The Douglas match. Douglas was the one who wasn't.

h2h probably yes, but he was only prime for less than a year which is not top 10 overall. The myth of Tyson is top 10 all the way, not the reality.
