    I don't really have a list.

But if I did, Ali would top it.

After that it gets kind messy and depends on my mood.

H2H sometimes, I given the second slot to Foreman or Lewis.

    There's just too many variables.

I did rank them a few years back, but I based it on tiers.

I think you should produce a list as a Tyson advocate. By the limited information given, Tyson would appear between #4 and #10 on your list.

    I don't really do lists.

Hence, why you've never seen me post one.

And I said before, with me, Ali is number one, the rest of the slots can be shared by whoever is having the better day.

But I do believe Tyson beats Marciano, Dempsey, Frazier, Bowe, Louis, Holmes, Wladmir, Vitali and Jack Johnson.

Ali, Lewis, Foreman, Holyfield and Liston are much tougher fights to pick. Well, Ali would straight up beat him. But if anybody could Ko Ali, it would be Tyson.

Not because of anything Bowe was doing. Golota was just a head case.

How did Golota end up with those injuries? Did he slip on a banana peel before the fight?

Bowe hung in there. Most fighters wouldn't have.
Bowe deserves credit. He hung in there, took his punishment and kept coming. He was around in the later stages for Golota to implode and Bowe got his reward (if you can call it that !)

Realistically Tyson would fit right in a tier of six or seven guys who may or may not make the top 10.
I don't see him making the top 6.

neither do I.. I'm thinking the highest I can rank him is about #8 and the lowest maybe 12 ( though I do have him top 10. ) There are some who have him as high as #5 and some as low as #20. Both are ludicrous.

I agree Bowe showed extreme heart and toughness against Golota. Even so, the end result wasn't because Bowe suddenly KO'd Golota or out-boxed him, it was down to Golota being a nut job. A non head case Golota just throws head shots for the remainder of the fight and either wins on points or stops Bowe.

I think anywhere from about #7 to about #17 is arguable.

Yes, but the point is Bowe was still around to "benefit" from Golota's craziness, and arguably his toughness contributed to Golota's behaviour.
Lesser fighters wouldn't have been around that late in the fight, and Golota probably wouldn't have gone to "full foul mode" against weaker smaller fighters, imo.
So maybe Bowe did "do something" to win those fights.

Fair enough. I don't think Tyson beats Holmes, or Vitali. Mike was a front-runner who lost aggression and activity as the rounds went on. He's a bully type, who had questionable intangibles. He never got up to win a match, or reverse course when things were not going his way.

On a 1-2 year old interview, he said he wasn't sure if he beat the Klitschko's saying every generation athletes are bigger and better.

Tyson had some swelling issues as well.

Bowe, pre Golota beats Tyson I think.

I'd put Tyson just outside the top ten. He just wasn't competitive in his legacy fights and has a very memorable upset KO loss that went unavenged.

Everyone has their own criteria. But I don't think I could list 16 heavyweights that can rank favorably over Tyson.

And those who use sensible criteria shouldn't be able to.
