IMO, Mayweather was poor by his standards. There was a point in it, due to PBF's lethargy. He wasn't his usually dynamic or incisive self at all, he scraped through with the bare minimum of activity. Poor fight, poor performance.
Personally, I scored the fight 115-113 for Williams. However, the subject of this thread is in regards to the percieved/actual closeness/distance of this fight. The truth is it was a close fight, and close fights can be scored either way. Also, generally speaking I don't put a helluvalotta stock in judge's scores, although I did happen to agree with two of them this time.
Good post. Floyd went up and wait and clearly beat Oscar with his "C" game. I wouldn't call it a poor performance, but it wasn't a great one either.
Personally I don't under stand how Margo could sleep 6 ****ing rounds, half of the fight, then have 2 rounds in the last half, the 12th a definite win and the 10th which I gave to Paul, but I admit could go either way, and think the fight was close. Margarito only had 4 rounds in which he clearly won and you all want to cry about it being close. How? Margarito is scared of Williams, always was scarred of Williams, and from the looks of it, continues to be scared of Williams.
Williams needs to fight and stop living off that Close fight. Margarito has won 2 championship's since then... What has Williams done? Quintana, Tony beat the best PR WW's.
Williams gave Margo a boxing lesson and would do it again, I scored it 116-112 in favor of Williams. I'm so sick of hearing the myth of how great Margo is.
He's the man now, they call him out.. Tony has prob already lost his voice doing the calling out. Now, he can pick and choose and he deserves it. But as far as Williams "If it don't make dollars it don't make sense" :hey (It don't feel good does it, Now he can do it aswell)
Besides how do YOU know he won't fight Williams? Didn't he already fight and keep it close with Williams despite not doing **** for 6 rounds? They said if not DLH then a unification fight. Last I checked Williams held the WBO title. We'll see! :hey
