Why do people want a Cotto-Mayweather fight so badly?

While i respect Miguel for being a real bad ass and body puncher in the ring i cannot simply forget that he had real life and death fights with Corley and Torres and was beaten 115-113 by Mosley.
Cotto fighting Mayweather would be a mismatch IMHO so why are some people utterly convinced it would be a competitive fight?

Because he is undefeated & would definitely pose Mayweather problems. Cotto is also a massively popular fighter & has done more than enough to warrent a shot at the worlds number one fighter. It's the biggest fight for world boxing right now.

It's the Lineal champ vs. His #1 contender. I would love to see this fight, and yes, I think PBF would beat that ass.

He didnt have a life and death fight with Corley, he was wobbled badly in an otherwise dominating performance.

He wasnt beaten by Mosley, he changed his style and out jabbed Shane and in my eyes landed the quality shots in what was a close but clear victory for Cotto.

I think most people understand Floyd would win but they just want to see Cotto get the chance cos he deserves it.....

Yup. It's mad we have to justify wanting to see these fights when it's quite clearly the next logical fight for both boxers, money & hype withstanding.

Most fans would love to see this fight....contrasting styles that make for a great fight, but I would'nt mind seeing a Cotto-Hatton fight, that would be a ****ing war.............

I guess you don't understand the connection between being weight drained and the ability to take a punch

..because some people, me atleast, want to see mayweather get knocked out by cotto.. it is the most logical fight for both fighters.. the people want to see it, but PBF only cares about money and fame right now.. but i think it would be a pretty close fight.. thats just my opinion..

Cotto beat Shane. Thats all I have to say and I think Cotto pushes Floyd to the limit to see what more he has to offer. Me being one to know that Floyd can do more then he already has. He makes every fight look easy, this one wont be easy no matter what.
