    Because they are idiots.

In 18 years Floyd Mayweather has NEVER entered a boxing ring at 154 lbs. He has been UNDER that weight 46 times.

in 8 years Gennady Golovkin has never entered a boing ring at 154 lbs. He has been OVER that weight 29 times.

Mayweather is not a legitimate 154 lb. champ, he has fought at that weight EXACTLY twice in 46 fights because that was THE ONLY weight that THE BIGGEST MEXICAN STAR IN THE WORLD could fight at.

Erslandy Lara has been asking, no, CALLING for a fight with GGG for 6 months. Abel Sanchez said no.

If GGG really wants a fight, shouldn't he actually take one at 154 to prove he can make the weight? He is 32 years old and has not fought at 154 since he was in his early twenties as an amateur. Even the amateur jr. middleweight limit is 156.

No, the better question is, "Why doesn't GGG tell his trainer to shut the **** up?"

Abel Sanchez says that his fighter would fight anyone from 154 to 175. He has never fought anywhere other than 160. Andre Ward who is 1 inch taller and 8 lbs. heavier has offered him a fight. I did not hear Sanchez say, "anyone from 154 to 175 except Andre Ward and Erslandy Lara."

Floyd Mayweather routinely spots guys 10-17 lbs. in the ring. Why should he be forced to give up 20+ lbs. along with 7 years in age, 3 inches in height, and reach? To a guy who has NEVER fought as a junior middleweight? Then his somehow, miraculously he wins, his opponent was "weight-drained", and what if the weigh-in comes, and GGG, a who hasn't weighed that little in over a decade, can't make the weight, then what? Do they cancel a 3-month, multimillion $ promotion?

I hope this answers anyone's questions.

what is the problem if ggg wanted to drain to 154?

he is willing to sacrifice for a shot at the so called best sww, so?

is theftjr only allowed to fight handicapped bums?

He doesn't have to WANT TO. He has to DO IT!

Let him take one or two fights there to see if he can make the weight, then we'll talk.

and what "handicapped bums" has Mayweather fought? I watched most of his fights and they were against world champions.

problem is that the fight won't happen at 154 - Floyd has only made 154 fights with blown up welters, with good reason, and he didn't look a million dollars doing it
can't see golovkin taking a catchweight, and I cant see Floyd being happy at 154

I'd watch if it did, but am I going to somehow blame Floyd for not making that fight?

Absolutely not! Floyd's got no business at Middleweight, and frankly, no business at 154. I'd rather he just dropped the 154 title and quit with the charade, much like Cotto if Miguel's not going to defend against middleweights.

Now, Cotto? He's squarely in GGG's radar and as should be as long as he keeps the 160 lb title. If he doesn't want to take the heat for avoiding him, drop the title.

Lots of bad facts here. For example Ward offering Ggg a fight. Show me the offer.

Bud, Floyd has been a SWW champ for over 2 years, and is about to defend that belt (at 147 lmao). Hes reigning, lineal, 2x champ there. Thats one whale of a paper champ. When does this disgrace of a champ drop the paper belt?

Now Cotto on the other hand. He went up to middleweight and he's the champ, so he has to fight Golovkin.

Do I want to see Cotto get his brains beat in? No.

    It would be a hell of a fight though...so I don't know.

    Look...

He's the champ. He can either retire or fight GGG. I have no problem with either.

Then why do you complain about Canelo at 152?

And Golovkin's big ass should drain down that much, I don't believe he can make 154. But like Progamer said "what is the problem if ggg wanted to drain to 154"

It doesn't make sense to complain about Canelo at 152 then turn and say this.

because theftjr is a champ at 154. both of them are or were.
they are/were int he same division.

my opinion was, prior to the fight, drainelo was already draining to get to 154 because of his anemic workrate.

you drain him 2lbs more, and he was corpse.

here is the scenario for theftjr-golovkin:

    1. c/w - in between, ideal but far fetched, theftjr aint goin to give ggg any slight adv.
    2. mw- theftjr will go up and fight for his 6th div title. pipe dream. he will chop his own dick before he fights ggg at his best weight.
    3. sww- most likely scenario where the fight could happen, and ggg is open to going down to 154.

at 160, i dont see golovkin having stamina issues. so going down to 154 is workable, at least to me.

so the question remains, is theftjr only allowed to fight handicapped bums the rest of his career?
