Why Do People Want Golovkin vs Stevens???

To my mind, Curtis is full of steroids. I saw a lot of fighters who injected steroids, and there all the signs

 

You know who's buying the hype? Stevens' promoter AND trainer. They're not as gung ho about it, Mannix said it last night on the broadcast. That's cause they know he's gonna be trashed as garbage by guys like your next alt after the fight.

 

I want to see the fight, as its two punchers colliding. Guaranteed knock-out.

I think all this Stevens calling out GGG is media manipulation. Stevens has made a splash at middleweight (sort of) and would lose all momentum by getting beaten up by GGG next. Makes far more sense for him to continue on his current path, playing the avoided bard guy act and stopping smaller guys with non-elite boxing skill sets.

Would not suprise me if Stevens actually turns down a fight with GGG, stating some unequitable contractual B.S. as the reason.

In short: Stevens claiming he wants GGG is all an act orchestrated to convince dumb people.

 

Floyd is the cashcow of boxing right now, he can pick and fight whoever and wherever he wants, despite what the morons say, he has nothing to prove, btw, both him and Pac are to blame for their fight never happening, and because of this I am a fan of neither but I have respect for their achievements

GG doesn't have huge TV backing or huge followings, despite having a portion of the MW title, he is a low reward, extremely high risk fight, and it's not his fault Quillin, Geale, Sturm or Pirog refused to fight him for scraps

There's something to that I think, I would actually love to see a Gena vs Stevens fight, 'cos I think it'd give GGG a chance to put on a display against someone who is perceived as a real threat (despite repeated exposures against guys who can box a bit). But Stevens' sudden hesitation about making the fight in the post fight interview was a surprise, as was his admission that GGGs team wanted him.

I can see Stevens' team as seeing the WBC belt and Maravilla mando a coupla fights down the line as a more attractive alternative than a probable loss to GGG in a coupla months.

The simple fact that rising MW fighters like Stevens and (possible) contenders like Jr are calling out GGG simply underlines the perception that Maravillas time is seen to have passed.

I thinks generally, fans like to see to bangers fight more than any other style match ups.
Also, Stevens have been challenging Golovkin who has never excluded anyone when ask about who his next opponent will be.
