Some here only want boxer from their own country at the HW throne.
Other smucks even believe it's their country's SNV given right to have the HW title in their mids because it used to be that way 30 or 40 years ago. :nut
Others just don't like them and rather have a lesser quality boxer at his place so the titlefights are more competitive that way.

it's not necessarily anything personal against him or nationalistic, it's more exciting to see someone new come a long and dethrone him.
This isn't specific to wlad, in any sport people would want to see more variety at the top rather than the same team win the superbowl 7 years in a row, or federer win every single grandslam for 7 years.

You think if it wasn't for a determined young Spaniard federer would at least have 30 GS.

I quite like Wlad, he's a charming and intelligent champion who always comes of well in interviews. Just wish he was as exciting in the ring as he is personable outside of it.

For me it's his more hardcore deluded fans that ruin it. Would like to see him beaten just so they could get a reality check.

I like him. And although I tend to like other styles that are more aggressive, I like Wlad's "approach" because he used to be more aggressive and found out that it wasn't suited for him because it left him more vulnerable. Being aggressive, "Crowd pleasing," going for early destruction of your opponent...is incredibly hard to do: It wears you out faster and it leaves you susceptible to damage and being knocked out yourself, etc.
He tried it, it worked good but not great. He adapted and found something better. I can appreciate that. He found a better way to win. That's the "Art of Boxing."
Or as George Benton put it: "Win this fight, look good in the next on.,"

But I do have to say that the "casual" fans (in the States) that I know do not like to watch him. They like aggression. They like a "Fight." They like the risky type fighters that are aggressive.
And the fighters that don't fall into this category, should at least be a real slick type fighter that embarrass the opponent with skills/defense/countering...like a Willie Pep...especially if they are seen to be at a disadvantage...like in height/weight/strength. Because if you are BIG, you better act like it and Knock MFers out in great fashion.
That's what I found from the "Casual" fans I know on why they don't like to watch fighters like Wlad: For such a big guy that has lots of advantages over his opponents, he doesn't use it.
But they are "Casual" fans and haven't followed his entire career like I have. I've seen him try to be that guy, the heavy KO machine aggressor, and although he has had some success with it, it also caused him to lose.

I've already seen Wlad get knocked out twice. I personally have no real desire to see him lose. For the most part, I'm indifferent towards Wlad. He's a great fighter, and has dominated for a while now. However, I find his fights to be anti climatic. Nobody besides his brother seems to present a legit challenge to him.
