Because it's easier to generalize when you don't know much about boxing and if you only see the agression you fail to see the other dimensions to coming forward such as counterpunching, inside game and smart pressure. For example and casual boxing fan just thought that Mike tyson was a pure slugger in his prime and he only was a comeforward brawler. Sure to some extent that is ture but they forget that he had superb defense on the offensive, great inside game, counterpunching abillity and so on. I think it's easier for a defensive counterpucnher to show both inside game and defensive game because they are contrast to eachother and the fighter looks more complete. That's my onpinion on it anyways.
^^^That's about it, Chavez, LaMotta, and Duran are seen as just sluggers by casual fans, but they had a great defense and head movement.
Because of what 99% of them do when they meet a puncher... the same thing. A fighter should know when counting on his chin is not advisable. Another problem is people taking offense to the term "one-dimensional". If you keep winning doing the same thing WTF is the problem? So he tracks guys down and pounds them. So? It is the WINNING dimension! As a person who finds himself often not liking "one dimensional come forward aggressive fighters", my second biggest issue is LACK OF DEFENSE. I like the style if a guy is using head movement, feints, covering up, etc... The second most annoying issue with these types of fighters is an inability to cut off a ring. If you are a banger that can't shift with a guy I think you are a waste.
