Why do so few people give Trout a chance?

    He beat Miguel Cotto with fair ease and he also defeated Delvin Rodriguez, who some people argued going to the Cotto fight was better than Cotto. Trout is an average person who for years has been working his way to the top, proving himself the better fighter while going to their hometowns to make fame for himself.

    Canelo on the other hand is a talented kid who has not worked his way to a champion but has been made out to be a champion by his promoters, a titleholder who has not faced a prime fighter who fights at 154, but fights people from the smaller weights, making them come up, or old legends of the past who simply have little in them.

    I think Canelo can win, it's undeniable he has skills, yet looking at their stories and fights, why would Canelo be favored?

    I think Trout UD Canelo this is by far toughest challenge in Canelos career , i hope i'm wrong but if fight ends up being remotely close judges will give it for Canelo, Trout must be really convincing.

    Probably, but similarly to the JCC JR loss, I think a loss would help Canelo.

    People are giving him a chance.

    It's a few vocal Saul Alvarez diehards writing him off. Saul Alvarez couldn't stop a few smaller guys he should have stopped, but some fans are expecting him to stop Trout.

    Trout is a big fairly slick super welter and will clinch if needed. Alvarez won't have an answer for Trout's left downstairs imo

    Who hasn't given him a chance? And why would most of the people on this board have wanted the fight if nobody gave Trout a chance in it?

    A few weeks ago no one gave canelo a chance now people are jumping off the trout hype and coming to reality where canelo will make fish meat may 4th.

    also same can be said for canelo trout won't have an answer for the body work and the right hand that is canelos best shots and a southpaws kryptonite, once trout feels the power he will run like he did in the cotto fight till cotto gassed, lol cotto was punking him and he doesn't hit as hard or is as big as canelo.


    canelo wins.

    I think most are giving him a really good chance, that's why it seems we're all more excited about this matchup than Mayweathers even.

    Nobody in their right mind would argue that.

    Anyway, I said before, during, and after the Cotto fight that Trout was an ordinary fighter. I still stand by that statement. If Canelo is a special as he's being hyped up to be, he should handle Trout. It's hard to gauge Canelo at this point due to his level of opposition. This fight should tell us exactly where he stands.
